Mark Zuckerberg CEO of Facebook was in Homer around the 4th of July. He first posted an
otter swimming by him in Kachemak Bay! That was a clue he was really in Homer. Otters are completely darling when they float by you, maybe give you a little wave! They treat everyone the same
Zuckerberg or John Doe they are pretty friendly adorable creatures.

Oprah comes to Alaska! She must have talked to former President
Barack Obama about his visit to Alaska andmade the decision to come see it for herself!
She has enjoyed a hike or two, watching salmon swim,
a little wild life and at least one or two Alaskan Brewery Beers
They have left Juneau and Sitka Behind and are back on the Holland America Eurodam cruise ship
We are hoping she and her peeps show up in Homer for some Homer Brew and a Laugh or too!

This year I have been getting a lot of calls from people getting their tax assessments! Some people are mad about how high they rose and some are upset because they went down! It is all over the board this year! I have actually got calls from people who are scared because their tax assessment dropped 30,000 and they think their home value is diving or sinking. Today is the official Re-Start of the Iditarod!
Looks like 85 mushers and their dog teams will take out of Willow at 2 PM today for the Last Great Race!
People from all over the world are here to watch the race!
So while we wait for the end of the race and the winners and their dogs to claim their victory...

SNOW! We got some SNOW! It is all white and Beautiful right now… probably won’t last long but it is worthwhile to enjoy it while we can! People are loving it! We like the snow in the winter. Usually we have about 10 inches of snow in January so a couple of inches of snow isn’t an event! Heres Hoping we get another couple of inches!
Someone who is loving every drop of snow right now is Smoky Jo!

Sunday Visitors! Loved seeing this family in my valley! Mom, Dad and the twins were all looking quite healthy and happy. Grazing on alders, birch and willows they spent several hours in the valley before they moved on…
Hunting season started the next day and they had to get to their quiet place and away from the hunters.
None of these Moose have anything to worry about… they are all safe under the hunting guidelines. Even Dad, with his beautiful antlers is safe. He is not a legal bull moose to shoot!
