Ninilchik/Clam Gulch - Historic Halfway Point Located halfway between Homer and Soldotna, Ninilchik is the oldest settlement on the Kenai Peninsula and the old village offers a slice of Alaskan history while the more modern community offers merchandise, services and activities including the annual Kenai Peninsula State Fair. As July is quickly winding down and with August just around the corner, that means it’s time for SalmonFest! The annual music festival, which is held in Ninilchik at the Kenai Peninsula Fairgrounds, is advertised as 3 days of Fish, Love and Music.
