Good Morning! I thought I'd keep it brief this morning but I definitely wanted to share with you a few new things. First and foremost, the Whistler Real Estate Company is moving today after 22 long years in our Whistler Marketplace location. The new space is stunning, very trend-setting and cutting edge in comparison to any other office space in Whistler. After a long 22 years at our office location at Whistler Marketplace, The Whistler Real Estate Company is moving to a brand new office location in The Delta Whistler Village Suites. The new office is right across the street from the beautiful Whistler Public Library and is next door to Hy's Steakhouse which will be a great gathering spot for apres ski or bike cocktails with our clients. Good Morning! Well we finally got a good dump of fresh snow up here about 9 days ago and the resort has been reaping the benefits of that ever since. Unfortunately, for the time being it's looking like we're in another dry spell at least for the next week but at least the rocks are covered and both mountains have sufficient coverage to get you around to anywhere you want to ski. As is typical in the real estate market cycles for Whistler, we're in our slightly slower post-Christmas period at the moment with less property typically being sold in the time (0 comments)

Good Morning and Happy New Year! I had the chance to take some solid time off with family over the past 2 weeks and it was wonderful. I worked a little bit but mostly hung out with my wife, my boys and the dog and we went up the mountain skiing quite a bit. Despite the media's doom and gloom regarding the ski conditions, the snow is actually pretty good up there and the 27 cms we received last Thursday/Friday was a big help. There's more on the way this week too and with temperatures nice and cold at the moment, Whistler (0 comments)

Good Morning! This past weekend, Blackcomb opened up giving us two full mountains to choose from. Conditions remain a bit on the sketchy side as it's still early season but it looks like we've got some colder weather in the alpine forecast for Whistler. I haven't been up the mountain yet but will likely head up with my boys next weekend if we get any snow this week at all. I usually don't dust off the boards until the first or second week of December unless it's exceptional early season conditions. Good Morning! Just last week I flew out to Chicago to speak at a realtor conference of several hundred agents from across the U.S. and Canada. The main topic of my particular session was to discuss some of the unique marketing strategies that I employ in the Whistler resort real estate market. It was also a really fun opportunity to meet a wide spectrum of agents who work everywhere from Washington DC to Ohio, Michigan, Tennessee, Colorado and even L.A.. I had the good fortune last week to be able to go for a helicopter ride up to the Ipsoot Glacier high above Pemberton. Pretty awesome ride and one of my main reasons was to be able to get a good look from above to see the land where the new Tiyata Village neighbourhood will be located. You can see that at the end of the video and it's a pretty cool view of the Pemberton Valley from the air. Take a look at the quick video below.

Good Morning! Well it looks like the crowds are back once again for Presidents Week here in Whistler. We took the kids up the mountain for a bit of a ski yesterday and it was a very busy day up there. Just walking around in the Village this morning also confirmed that the place is packed! I've really noticed this winter that the U.S. visitors seem to have come back north of the border with a vengeance. Check out this recent article from the Whistler Question. Looking for a property that allows the most flexible use in Whistler that allows you to come up on a whim or rent it out whenever you'd like, perhaps not even rent it out if that's what you prefer? Your best option would be phase I properties. These are mostly located in the Village, and at Blackcomb though there are quite a few in Whistler Creekside as well. Phase 1 properties have nightly zoning for nightly rentals, which does cost a bit more if you're owning a condo, and though it has the flexibility to do the rentals, you may opt not (0 comments)
