About the New River Valley

SW Virginia's New River Valley is made up of some of the most beautiful places on earth and so much history; there is not enough time nor space to mention it all!  The counties of Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski and the City of Radford are all part of the NRV. It is located in SW Virginia and the Blue Ridge and Appalachian Mountains. The New River at 350 million years old(reportedly),is second only to the Nile as the oldest river in the world & flows backwards!

virginia: Virginia housing market - 09/04/09 07:17 AM
Economist say the worst of the housing bust is over. According to Reuters, "U.S. home prices are nearing the end of a three-year slump and should rise in 2010:. The same report, however, stated though the overall economy can rebound even if the housing market does not as a housing rebound is not needed to end to the economic slide.
Most people think we will bottom out and start to see an upward swing Oct. - Dec.  Anecdotal reports suggest that low mortgage rates and an $8,000 first-time home-buyer credit (set to end soon) are coaxing buyers back into the market.

I received an email from a company called Home Flux and per their email they wanted to connect with an Agent in my area who has worked with distressed home owners before and who would like to be the point of contact for referrals from their company.
Below is part of an email I received, but after going to the website, I still don't know any more about the company than I did.  Has anyone heard of this company and what their all about?

virginia: Salem Virginia Palin Rally - 10/30/08 10:40 AM
I went to see Sarah Palin Monday Oct. the 27th in Salem, VA and wanted to share some of the photos I took.  Our Republican Governor, Senator & Delegate nominees spoke prior to her being introduced.  A native of Staunton, VA, Jimmy Fortune (singer with the Statler Brothers) sang Pretty Women just prior to her coming on stage, which was pretty cool and when she walked out they played Dolly Parton's Working 9 to 5, which set the stage.  It was a good rally and brought in 15,000 people. I was approx. 8 people deep standing on the football field. Some of the … (2 comments)

virginia: Fruity Pebbles - 10/11/08 06:50 AM
I wanted to share some profound wisdom from my child :)
When my son was small one of our favorite fall pass times was to take rides on Sunday afternoon. We would go to Giles to pick apples at the orchard near Mountain Lake, or get a bucket of KFC and ride to Floyd Co. From there, we would hop on the Blueridge Parkway, go to Mabry's Mill & watch them make maple syrup then ride down to Nancy's candy company in the Meadows of Dan for pumpkin fudge. Such a wonderful relaxing day. It became something we looked forward to each year.

virginia: Does anyone list REO Properties regularly? - 07/10/08 04:08 AM
Does anyone know how to get on approved lists to sell REO properties?  I'm just now trying to acquire REO's. I have been to individual lender sites, signed up and do receive a few listings (about 1-3 a yr) but find most "internet searches" want a monthly fee to place you on a list for your particular area (which is Virginia). And, HUD seems to be a totally different animal all together.  Any suggestions or advice?
