In 1890 the Krug family, a family of St. Joseph donated land to the City of St. Joseph for park development. Originally only a portion of the land that is occupied today was given, but over time a total of 162 acres was acquired. The beginning plans were drawn up before the depression so many things were left undone. But still today the Krug Family legend lives on as the property serves as the largest park in St. Joseph with many attractions of its own.
Krug Park is located on the North Side of the St. Joseph Parkway (1 comments)

St. Joseph's newest attraction booms with visitors, and I can see why! WOW was I amazed when I drove up on the newly opened facility. The building is so breathtaking even pulling into the parking lot. The red, high standing structure has a modern, unique look. Sitting along the Missouri River I assume the reason the building is built on what looks like stilts is to make it "flood proof". Surrounding the building are beautiful trees, wildlife flowers, a butterfly garden, bridges, an outdoor classroom, a hike & bike trail, picnic tables and much more. I couldn't wait (2 comments)

Andy DeShon is a rising star of innovation by not taking "no" for an answer, while others complained of fuel prices and global warming, Andy did something about it. Andy became interested in electric motors when his uncle's dealership sold an electric lawnmower manufactured by General Electric. In the 1980's he began working with battery-powered forklifts in his warehouse job. In 1998, he started doing serious research and development work on his electric motors and electronics. Saturday it was almost 60 degrees, it really gave a false impression, that spring was here! This is a view from my deck. The geese are really fun to watch, early in mornings they fly away to feed in the area farm fields returning about dusk they all come flying in. I am also thankful that our doberman keeps them in the lake. (17 comments)
