neighborhood: Looking Deeper into Houston Neighborhoods: Memorial - 07/19/17 04:15 PM
One of Houston’s biggest neighborhoods is called Memorial, located west of 610 and stretching along Katy Freeway. Memorial itself is comprised of the memorial “villages” including Spring Valley, Piney Point, Bunker Hill, Hedwig, Hilshire and Hunters Creek Village.

Memorial is known for many things, one of which is its forest-like terrain. The area is covered in trees because of its proximity to the Buffalo Bayou – in fact, if you look at a map of Huston, the Memorial area is significantly more green than the rest of the city.

Midtown is a bustling part of Houston that has been on the rise for the past couple decades. Originally open fields with few houses, the area is now home to thriving art and nightlife communities, and mixes residential areas with businesses with over 140 restaurants, bars and coffee shops in its range.
