muscle cars: Hot Rod Shop? - 05/01/09 04:55 AM
I stopped in at K&M automotive this week to see a vast array of Muscle cars in the shop. Owner Corey Doerksen has always had a passion for a little extra HP and it seems that since the weather has been great the Hot Rods are coming out of hibernation. Whether your Hot Rod needs some maintenance, a little extra horsepower, custom exhaust, brakes or a correct part for your restoration Corey only does it one way. The right way.

muscle cars: Cars in Driveways - 04/10/09 03:40 PM
I came across a couple of Mopars today in various states of disrepair. It's amazing what you can find taking the back roads.

What could be a nice 68 GT 340 Dart convertible.

1971 Super Bee 340 auto. It's all there.
And a freinds stunning 69 Z28 302 and 68 SS ragtop.

muscle cars: Impala Progress - 04/10/09 03:23 PM
Spring is here and there seems to be less time in the garage. Between the outside maintenance, lawn tune up, family functions and of course Real Estate the progress has come to a slight standstill. I am hopeful that I can have the body off the frame this month.

All the sheet metal is now fully welded and it seems like countless hours adding and grinding metal to the edges to make a perfect gap. The trunk edges were the worst as the corners were pointed rather than a gentle curve.

muscle cars: Impala update - 02/21/09 03:00 AM
Here is a update on the metal work on the Impala.
The trunk floor pieces (8) were in and out around 10 times but now they are in for good. I am a little fussy when it comes to alignment of the trunk, bumper and especially the overall look when the car is back on the ground. Don't want it to sit crooked.

After we were happy with the fit of all the panels the welding could begin. Starting with the trunk floor, side braces, tail panel brace and the gas tank mouting braces which attach under the floor.

muscle cars: Quick tan from weldiing anyone? - 01/30/09 02:06 PM
I just have to laugh at this. NEVER welded before this week. The coverage on T.V. though is excellent. My body man has been helping out on the Impala restoration and watching him I noticed that sometimes he and ON T.V people just close their eyes upon welding contact. You don't want FLASHBURN of the eyes. O.K I understand the concept. However the standard welding helmutis so awkward, and DARK, how are you supposed to see what you are making contact with. Well it has taken a week of practice but I am proud to say YES I CAN WELD. So early … (6 comments)
