ellicott city: I still need an Attorney in Detroit
- 09/08/11 04:36 AM
Yesterday, I posted/blogged about needing a good real estate attorney in the Detroit Michigan area. Because I'm still pretty new at this, I think what I did was post it for people to see who are only in Michigan...but, I'm not sure. So, today I'm reposting basically the same thing but, I'm going to do it the way I usually do and, hopefully I'll get some responses. I'm trying to help a really nice lady that I met recently who had a short sale in Detroit two years ago. Now, she's being sued for $88k...the deficit amount. I've been involved in (3 comments)
ellicott city: Looking for attorney in Detroit

I am in search of a good real estate attorney in the Detriot Michigan area. Over the last few days I met the nicest couple who came here from Detroit two years ago. Unfortunately, they're not able to purchase a home in Maryland yet due to the wife having a short sale back in Detroit, that's still too recent. What else she told me that was very hard to believe is that she's being sued by her former lender for $88,000...the deficit amount on the short sale. My business partner and myself have done about 15 short sale transactions. Never in our (0 comments)

With my office being located in Ellicott City, MD I'm fortunate to do a lot of Relocation business. After all, Ellicott City is ideally located between Baltimore and Washington DC. So, when people come to Maryland from other parts of the country, it's nice to be able to share with them not only the best places to get crabs (because we're known for our crabs) but, also a little bit of history about our State. Maryland, was so named by King Charles I when he gave a charter for the land to Lord Baltimore but, only with the understanding that the (3 comments)
Changes in our industry (and there's been a ton since I got my license in 1986) are obviously done with the right thought in mind...protecting and promoting the interest of the client and public. And, we're all for that. However, I'm guessing that most of you have seen and are aware of the new Federal Trade Commission Ruling regarding MAP (The Mortgage Acts and Practices-Advertising Rule) that came into effect on August 19th, 2011, and makes it a "violation ...for any person to make any material misrepresentations, expressly or by implication, in any commercial communication, regarding any term of (3 comments)

My business partner and I always ask our clients to please write a short testimonial about their experience of working with us. Naturally, we encourage them to be honest. Besides once, a long time ago when a client said that my partner was on his cell phone too much, we have had nothing but great reviews. So, after a recent settlement of a home a home we had listed in Ellicott City, MD our sellers wrote a very nice testimonial about how smooth the transaction went and how they appreciated our professionalism, etc. We always post the testimonials on our web (72 comments)
ellicott city: You hate to see them go...

Today, two of the nicest people that we've had the pleasure of working with are leaving Maryland. We had such a great and friendly relationship with them while they were on the market for sale. Then, we sold their home in Valley Mede in Ellicott City and the transaction went flawlessly. Why, I ask do the best ones always leave town? You really hate to see them go because you know what a great referral source they would be here. After living in their home for 35+ years, they became known as the "Pied Pipers" of their neighborhood and, they leave alot of friends (2 comments)

ellicott city: My second day and counting...

Well, today is the second day of my Active Rain memebership. I posted my first blog yesterday and I got 3 replys! How exciting is that? I'm starting my Saturday morning here, in Ellicott City, Maryland on Floor Duty (or as our manager likes to call it, Opportunity Time). I wasn't really scheduled for FD/OT but, when I came in this morning no one was at our front desk so, I sat down and am ready for all those walk-ins and sales calls that will surely come!
