Spring has (finally!) sprung in PG...at least we hope it has! Guess I should be careful what I say...the snow isn't totally gone yet. Anyway, its nice to see some sun around here, and this also means that outdoor events are going to start happening! What are some dates to keep in mind?

A new hot water community energy system has been proposed for our city. With this system, a central heating plant uses pellets, or biomass fuels to heat the water, which is then distributed to various building for space heating and domestic water heating. Two major benefits: Each building does not need its own boiler or furnace, and renewable fuels can be used. Thus, this would allow our community to be more environmentally friendly, reducing our dependence on fossil fuels, as well as more cost effective.
Prince George is an excellent candidate for a hot water community energy system BECAUSE:

prince george bc canada: Dezell Drive Named After Garvin Dezell - 10/11/07 10:18 AM
Garvin Dezell was the mayor of Prince George, BC Canada from 1950 - 1953, and Mayor a second time from 1960 - 1969.  The population of Prince George rose from 4,000 to 30,000 people.  During Dezell's time as Mayor, three pulp mills were constructed, the Four Seasons Pool was built and the current location of City Hall was officially opened. Dezell died February 4, 1972 at the age of 63.  This is where the street name Dezell Drive came from.   Prince George, currently has a population of 81,000.
