Frisco’s has been serving Austinites since 1953! Harry Akins first opened its doors as part of the Night Hawk chain on Riverside and South Congress. Just ask my Geno who used to frequent the restaurant back when it first opened as a teenager.
Akins used to tell his staff, “There is nothing accidental about quality!” They are down to one location now in trendy Crestview located at 6801 Burnet Rd Austin Texas 78757. They must be doing something right as you will most always find lines of people waiting to get seated!

Fun on Saint Patrick's Day has come and gone! Had a busy week-end showing property to two buyers, enjoyed time with Geno and got my 3 miles a day in to complete my weekly goal of 5 times a week! Yahoo!! Finally all the vistors from SXSW and the rodeo are on their way out of town and we can settle down from all the events and traffic! “Foodie Fridays” in Austin
It's the second week-end in March and remember to set your clocks forward! I was reading Texas Monthly magazine the other day and noticed they offered a couple of great places for you to choose from for a fun evening out on the town. One has been rated “The Best New Lounge” and the other “Best New Carb Loading Bar” by the popular magazine. Keep in mind it's the beginning of SXSW week-end and traffic will be crazy!

Any chance we can spend time with our littlest grandson, Hudson, we jump! Our son and his wife found out about a nearby event at the last minute they wanted to attend, and asked if we weren’t busy would we come and watch Hudson...Of course, our answer was yes!!
At 5 months, Hudson is coming into his own, rolling over, lots of smiles for Paw Paw and Nana! He is so precious...we are grateful to be in his life.

Our 11 year old granddaughter Maggie chose Cheer Station to train in one of their class programs. They coach over 550 athletes and have the largest cheer gym in the Austin area. Maggie likes their philosophy that each child can reach their potential through positive guidance and self-esteem building and superior instruction. They consider all their athletes to be a part of one big family while striving to develop the “whole” athlete.
A couple of Sunday's ago Maggie and her group performed in The Mardi Gras contest in San Marcus, TX and claimed first position in her Meteors group!

Canyon Creek Elementary is at it again! The Environment Awareness Committee is calling on the whole community to join in and help recycle your HEB grocery bags. Only HEB bags can be recycled in this program!
When you have 20-50 bags in hand, stack them facing the same direction, then roll them as tightly as possible from the bottom end up to the handle to create a small log. Use two separate bags, one at each end, to tie the log.

It all started on Boulder Lane off Hwy 620 when Dorie in her red shoes (sorry Ginny I know you have those sparkly red shoes) began to follow the yellow brick road through her master planned community of Canyon Creek in NW Austin.
She often runs into the tin man portrayed by Geno, her husband who is fondly known as the Cookie Monster in Canyon Creek. He wears his heart on his sleeve as he passes out cookies when he is putting up For Sale signs, adding SOLD riders or taking pictures of homes or community events.

Every day as we exit Hwy 183 N. on the Anderson Mill exit we have been watching the construction on iFly (13265 N. US 183 - just north of McNeil Drive) and it is now open, as of January 17th!!
The three story structure has turned many a head especially knowing they have a wind chamber designed to stimulate free falling. Anyone over the age of 3 can fly. Fliers are in the wind tunnel with a trained instructor while another employee controls the wind speed based on the person’s weight, height and experience.
