active rain: Dishing with Dorie on New Years Eve ~ 12/31/18
- 12/10/18 09:44 AM
Today my buyers should initial off on all the changes on their contract for their New Taylor Morrison Home! It's hard to believe Christmas has come and gone. We enjoyed such a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with family at our home. Hudson and Beckett spent the night with us on Saturday as their parents went to to watch Clemson pulverize Notre Dame! It's brrrrr..cold in Austin and I'm thrilled Geno has done so well over the holidays. It's amazing what an infusion of non-stop family attention can do when your body and soul needs rejuvenating! Did you know there will be some changes in

active rain: Learning inspires me.....Knowlege itself is power
- 12/06/18 01:41 PM
I'm so glad that Carol Williams is hosting the December Challenge to share a quote that inspires us. After an informative luncheon this past Thursday put on by the Austin Chamber for the Austin businesses and policy leaders I thought of a Zig Ziglar quote that resonates with me. "You can make positive deposits in your own economy every day by reading and listening to powerful, positive life-changing content and by associating with and encouraging hope-building people." What a great few hours of learning and grasping the concept of powering forward in an Age of Disruption. Continuing education and forums like this inspire me. Its so

active rain: Dishing with Dorie ~ did you know 12/10/18
- 12/04/18 02:04 PM
It was a cold wet week-end in Austin. Even with the chilling temperatures on Saturday our community winter festival complete with Mr. and Mrs. Santa and horse drawn carriages was pulled off! I showed 2 houses to some clients from CA (they were helping their son and daughter-in-law move move this week-end on a home we closed on last week). Sunday was spent with daughter, daughter-in-law and granddaughter at the beautiful Ballet Austin production at the Long Center of the Nutcracker! Did you know that MONEY named Austin the best city to live in right now??

active rain: Dishing with Dorie on Christmas Eve ~ Did you know? 12/24/18
- 12/04/18 02:00 PM
Our Christmas Eve day started out with a little drama! Our son took Hudson and Beckett to town Lake early this morning so Hudson could ride his bike and dad ran pushing Beckett in the stroller. Hudson lost his traction and started going over the bank into town Lake..dad grabbed for the bike but still had his hand on the stroller which caused it to flip in the air and Beckett went head first in the stroller into the water along with Hudson and dad! He didn't know how he lifted the stroller up so quickly but he did and all is well. Dad lost his

active rain: How were 2018 November home sales in Canyon Creek NW Austin?
- 12/04/18 07:56 AM
How were 2018 November Home Sales in Canyon Creek NW Austin? Canyon Creek is one of the most desired neighborhoods in NW Austin. It’s a prestigious master planned community that contains two parks (Canyon Creek Park and Trailhead Park), a Junior Olympic pool, tennis courts, nature trails, close proximity to extensive entertainment and dining options. Canyon Creek offers homes from the high $300,000’s to the mid $600,000’s. Buyers moving to Austin often consider living in the Canyon Creek Subdivision because of its rolling hills topography, broad tree-lined streets, neighborhood diversity, excellent schools, location to Lake Travis and major arteries to reach employers.

One more week-end of shopping left before Christmas. I can safely say I'm done! I've got a good start on some Christmas baking so I can enjoy the Holidays! We are taking one day at a time with Geno as he tries to find a new "normal." Did you know Tony Shalhoub (actor in "Marvelous Mrs. Maisel") recently was interviewed by the New York Times? He came to Austin and said: "He discovered it's definitely a place I could happily spend the rest of my life. The music! The young people! The ribs! There's a lot to love."

I so enjoyed working with my wonderful Millennial clients, Garret and Kristin. They came to my open house last spring when their parents were visiting for their UT graduations. They fell in love with Canyon Creek and made the decision after they married in August they would look for a house in the fall. I reached out to them with answers to some questions and in the fall they contacted me when they were ready. At our first meeting in my office I answered 4 pages of questions. My buyer booklet answered many and was a great reference tool for them. I gave them a list

It's the end of November and tomorrow is the first of December so holiday activities and shopping are in full swing! My recommendation this week is for a restaurant rich in historic details close to downtown, sitting on a hill on Rosewood Avenue in East Austin; it's definitely worth a trip for an outstanding meal and to enjoy the sights and sounds of the holiday! ROSEWOOD https://rosewoodatx.com Rosewood Restaurant is an historic Queen Anne Victorian style home built in 1890 that overlooks East Austin entertainment district with a view of the Austin skyline. active rain: How much do feelings weigh?
- 11/20/18 09:05 AM
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I received this story from Mark Hairston with The Hairston Group. Read it and think about it..I sure did! “A professor of philosophy walked into her lecture hall with a glass of water in hand. The hall was filled with antsy students who were eager to finish up class before heading home for Thanksgiving break. As she wound her way through the aisles, the professor raised the glass of water where everyone could see it; most of the students anticipated the predictable "half empty or half full" question. Instead, with a smile on her face, she inquired: "How

active rain: Thankful for our annual office Thanksgiving luncheon
- 11/12/18 02:19 PM
Our NW Coldwell Banker office works hard, plays hard and likes to break bread together in thankfulness. Every year the week before Thanksgiving our office Thanksgiving luncheon is planned. The office supplies the turkey, brisket and cutlery along with ice tea. Everyone brings a dish to share which also includes desserts! It's always well attended and the office sets up a large table along with the conference tables. Its so fun to sample some wonderful home made recipes and spend time with colleagues. This was the first year I was unable to attend because I was taking Geno to the doctors and I was sad
