blessings: Serendipity Sunday's ~ Blessings - 05/19/23 05:20 PM
We are back from our weekend of fun in San Diego, celebrating yet another college graduate in the family! It was nice to be out of Austin and enjoy family, fun and especially some time with my son and daughter.
This is my daughters last of three children who graduated from college! My son has two (Handsome Hudson and Beautiful Beckett), so will be awhile before we have 2 more college graduations.
Years have a way of speeding by and many times it’s moments like these that call to me to remind me of how truly blessed I am.

blessings: Tuesday's Treasures ~ 2021 Girls Thanksgiving - 11/29/21 04:12 PM
I’m so blessed to have enjoyed a special Thanksgiving with 3 generations (Nana, daughter and 2 granddaughters) enjoying the sights and sounds of San Diego. Family was scattered with some enjoying skiing in Breckinridge but didn’t want to leave granddaughter Maggie at San Diego State by herself over Thanksgiving.

Mom, sister and Nana jumped on a flight and enjoyed a first ever “Gals Thanksgiving!”

blessings: Serendipty Sundays ~ Family Pilgrimage - 11/30/19 07:04 PM
I'm blessed to have such a caring family. This Thanksgiving was the first shared with out Paw Paw. The week-end before Thanksgiving we checked into Hyatt Lost Pines in Bastrop and the weather was perfect. It was warm enough to swim, fish, give archery a try, bean bag toss competitions and enjoy evening bonfires and cooking
Handsome Hudson tried his hand at archery and couldn't get enough of it!

Beautiful Beckett caught the first fish but was not about to touch that catfish!

Taking some time off and spending it together was perfect to get in the mood to celebrate Thanksgiving. Many years Paw Paw enjoyed coming here at … (18 comments)

blessings: Thanksgiving blessings - 11/29/19 06:49 AM

These two rascals, Beautiful Beckett and Handsome Hudson are such blessings. It was our first Thanksgiving without Paw Paw and I know he was celebrating with us.
About 4 years ago Paw Paw delegated the deviled egg making to son John and his family. They've perfected the process and now clearly have taken over the role as the designated devil egg makers. Paw Paw was the teacher but they have added their own spin to them and we all love them!
About 3 years ago Paw Paw passed the torched of carving the turkey to son John and he sliced this 25 pound bird perfectly as well as a 12 pound deep fried … (15 comments)

blessings: Happy Thanksgiving From Our House To Yours - 11/24/10 11:24 PM
As tradition would have it Thanksgiving falls on the 4th Thursday in November.  Although the precise origin of the holiday is disputed it really doesn't  matter as it is a holiday to enjoy with family and friends.  Gene and I would  like to extend our very best wishes for a bountiful harvest for all.  We are thankful for our family, health and prosperity.
We know and appreciate how truly blessed we are and wish to say thank you for allowing us to share our lives with you this past year.

blessings: Puffy and Pouty - 12/14/09 05:04 AM
Do you find you are so busy at this time of year you can't think straight?  Do you have business appointments, family obligations, dinners, lunches and parties to make time for?
Today in church our pastor had a recliner out on stage with a table, lamp, cup of hot cider, a candy cane and a Snuggy (you know the craze over the blanket with the arms!).  He donned the Snuggy (it was a UT one to boot) and settled leisurely in the recliner while expressing to us the need to slow down and make sure we were getting the most out … (8 comments)

blessings: Thanksgiving Message 2009 - 11/25/09 06:58 AM

I have received; as all of you have, many wonderful Thanksgiving messages this season.
I received one from Stefan Swanepoel that I felt truly communicated heartfelt Thanksgiving blessings for 2009 and wanted to share with all of you:
