We are so lucky to have an HOA Board that really gives their time and energy to making a difference in Canyon Creek! Recently a new electrical circuit to the monument lights at the Canyon Creek pool/park entrance was bid and the usual electrical contractors cost came in at whopping $10,000. With the cost of the new amenity center, pool furniture, etc. this was a large bite to swallow. One of our Canyon Creek HOA board members, Mark Weaver is an engineer and licensed electrician. The Canyon Creek HOA is sponsoring the first ever "Drive In Movie Night" at the Canyon Creek Community Pool, Saturday July 6th, 2019 beginning at 8 pm...movie starts at dusk. Bring your floats and towels (no pets please)! Hang out in the pool or just lay out on the hill and watch "Spider-man: Homecoming!" The Canyon Creek Pool/Bath renovation is in full swing with good progress as we head into the end of February. I enjoy driving by Canyon Creek Park and seeing what they have accomplished. Kudos to our Canyon Creek HOA board for overseeing this game changer project! It was amazing how many residents braved the blustery weather to join us at the Canyon Creek HOA Multi-Cultural Festival in Trail Head Park in Canyon Creek Subdivision on December 8, 2018. It was colder than we were hoping for but the holiday music, the wonderful performances, the food and hot beverages created a heart-warming, unforgettable sense of close knit community. Mr. and Mrs. Santa were a hit as well as the 2 horse drawn carriages that created a true holiday ambiance. Snowflakes in the air would be the only thing that could have made it better. The 15th annual Canyon Creek HOA Spring Egg Hunt experienced an “eggcellent” turnout, Saturday, March 24th! Plastic eggs were plentiful thanks to residents dropping off eggs at my house prior to the egg hunt! The Canyon Creek Park on the grassy knoll in front of the Canyon Creek Pool sported 3 large areas defined by purple, yellow and blue lines! I had the best volunteers this year who helped outlined the boundaries, spread the eggs in the respective fields and contain the anxious kiddos from running on the fields until their turn! The weather couldn’t have been nicer for the Canyon Creek HOA “Fall Festival” held at Trail head Park on Saturday afternoon October 28, 2017! Kudos to Tara Hernandez and Jade Braun for spearheading once again the HOA Fall Festival creating yet another memory making event for the community! So many fun activities from pumpkin painting, face painting, temporary tattoos, a petting zoo, an assortment of fun games and a balloon designer creating so many fun animals for the kids. Ownership of Trailhead Park in Canyon Creek, Austin TX 78726, has transferred to the City of Austin upon the dissolution of Northwest Utility District No.1 (MUD) in February of 2010. Canyon Creek HOA and the City of Austin are negotiating a permanent management system for Trailhead Park fields and pavilion use. The large and small fields are currently under construction and will not be ready to use until the week after Spring Break at the earliest depending on weather conditions.
