clients: It's nice to be remembered - 11/22/10 06:44 AM
The other day I had a call from a couple I sold a home to 19 years ago!  I remember them well as their sale happened in my first year in Real Estate.  They fell in love with a property across from a park and have been very happy with their home.
I have chatted with them over the years, helping them fight their tax appraisals and sent calendars and Christmas cards throughout the years.  They are now 80 and need to move closer to family so they called me to come take care of selling their home.
I smiled and thought this … (16 comments)

clients: It's Nice To Know Your Efforts Are Appreciated - 09/26/10 12:54 AM
It's nice to know your efforts are appreciated...Recently I received a nice letter from some wonderful clients I worked with last spring.  Reference letters are valued as most of my sellers move out of state.  A letter can be included in my marketing materials for future clients to review so they can read what past clients have to say concerning their experience in working with me.  It's always nice to feel appreciated:

I provide marketing products and services that ignite action.  From finding new customers to energizing the ones I know and love, my tools can help stimulate the … (18 comments)

clients: Are You Incubating Your Leads? - 07/29/10 07:25 AM
Many agents want leads from clients that are ready to buy or sell right now.  Are you remembering to incubate the cool leads that will be ready in 6 months, a year or two?  I get many calls from residents in our community to schedule a time to view the house and give them some ideas for projects that will give them the most value when they are ready to sell down the road.  I don't mind doing this at all!
It's important to ask advice from a professional so you spend time, effort and money on the right updates.  There … (6 comments)

clients: Reject An Offer....Really?? - 07/23/10 10:10 AM
This morning I read several blogs concerning low ball offers.  Richard Weeks  "I say a lowball offer is better than no offer at all." and one from Mike Jaquish "Lowball Offer?" Let's never again say "Lowball Offer" to our Sellers." expanding his thoughts on the subject.
In today's market any seller that gets an offer needs to realize the buyer liked his property (over many others currently in inventory) to start the process.  As an agent representing a seller it is our responsibility to counsel our client on the best practice in handling offers.
An offer is a starting point and many sellers … (29 comments)

clients: Are You Practicing SST With Your Community? - 06/21/10 04:39 AM
Are You Practicing SST With Your Community?
I was holding an open house a few weeks ago and one of my past clients came in to see me.  He is one of the most caring and dedicated pastors I've had the pleasure to represent.  I listed their home and sold them a house in our community.  We are very fortunate to have him and his wife now reside in our neighborhood!
He made two observations while we were talking that I felt were heartwarming.  He told me they enjoyed seeing our personalized direction signs every Sunday leading visitors to our homes. … (6 comments)

clients: Love Those Letters of Recommendation - 06/13/10 11:39 PM
I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work with wonderful clients.  Many of my sellers relocate to other parts of the country so I greatly appreciate the time my sellers take to write a letter of recommendation so I may pass it on to future clients. Recently I managed the sale of Billie and Tom Flippen's home so they could relocate and retire in Colorado.  Here is a letter of recommendation I received from them:

I am writing to recommend Dorie Dillard to anyone who is thinking of selling or buying a home in the northwest … (26 comments)

clients: Coming Soon! - 04/21/10 04:42 AM
Many agents are putting a sign in the yard of a home they are listing with a "Coming Soon" rider.  Is this for the benefit of an agent to greedily garner calls from buyers?  Is it in the best interest of the sellers to get the most favorable offer possible?
In today's market many agents are working with buyers and have them set up on programs generated from the MLS to notify their clients of any new listing that fits their criteria.  When a new property comes on it is sent to the agent and the buyer for immediate review.  If … (8 comments)

clients: I'm Watching Ya !!! - 04/07/10 08:10 AM

Squirrels have a unique way of watching those around them.  They scamper and flit over tree limbs, tops of fences, over decks; ever alert and always aware of their surroundings.  As Real Estate professionals we must maintain the same vigilance for our clients and their needs.Sometimes it just means keeping them focused on their goals whether buying or selling.  It's easy to get side tracked and it is our job to keep them out of harm's way!

clients: Be Part Of The Cure, Not THE Problem - 03/16/10 09:37 AM

As realtors, I'm quite certain the majority of us can multitask even while driving and that there will be no consequences.  As realtors we carry precious cargo with us while showing homes.  These families and individuals look to us for our professionalism and dependability while in our care and put their faith and trust in us to be completely responsible.  Using  your cell phone (talking, texting, and surfing the internet) while driving does cause many accidents - some fatal.
Driving a motor vehicle requires your full attention and complete concentration. So when you need to make or receive a phone call, … (4 comments)
