dorie dillard: Dishing with Dorie ~ 10/22/18 - 10/17/18 08:49 AM
It's been a week-end I'll not forget in a long time. Friday night at midnight I called 911 for Geno who was having difficulty breathing. He was taken to the Austin Heart Hospital. He was just at ER on Tuesday after a nasty spill and a makeshift cast put on. On Thursday we went to Texas Orthopedics and no cast for Geno with his congestive heart failure and neuropathy issues. He's been having breathing treatments and treatment for a small clot that appears to have formed in his leg he injured. I have a red motorized wheelchair waiting for him at home and hoping tomorrow he'll … (14 comments)

dorie dillard: Barlatas ~ "Foodie" Friday 10/19/18 - 10/17/18 08:38 AM
The rain continues and the Lakes are cresting and flooding in Texas! Lake Travis full is 685 feet and is now at 710 feet and more rain on the way. ACL is over and Formula 1 is scheduled this week-end (let's see how that goes with a wet track). I'd suggest if you're looking for something different, and want to get out stop into this Tapas Bar on South Lamar and taste their traditional Lata dishes.

dorie dillard: Digital Marketing Matters - 10/12/18 10:49 AM
I know Anita Clark is our Queen of Facebook marketing here in the rain. I never miss her Facebook Friday series and always appreciate her advice and suggestions. When a course came up going over advertising on Facebook I made a point to go because of the success Anita has shown us.
Austin PT 50 offered a course Friday October 12 at Austin Title on an introduction to “Ad Manager” for Facebook. Amber Thomas, President of Austin PT50 lead the class and offered some pretty compelling reasons why we should advertise on Facebook Through Facebook Ads.

dorie dillard: What do you hope to achieve in 2019? - 10/12/18 10:31 AM
Austin PT50 and CRS teamed up for a great Roundtable event on Thursday, October 11th. Amber Thomas, President of PT50, emceed and offered an enlightening presentation with lots of audience participation on a topic that is perfect for this time of the year: What do you want to achieve in 2019?
It’s that time of the year to reflect on 2018, how you are going to finish up fourth quarter and how do you envision business in 2019?
The interaction with other top producers was very beneficial as we tackled 3 crucial questions to make 2019 your best year ever:

dorie dillard: My Halloween Pumpkin Post: Making my entrance to the ball - 10/10/18 02:31 PM
Kimo Stowell is the King of Halloween! Hard to believe it’s time for the 5th Annual Halloween Post Contest! There are so many categories my head is swimming but I’m determined to make sure I make the Haunted Masquerade and Costume Ball this year.
My inspiration came from a couple of thoughts twirling and whirling around in my mind. It’s October which is Breast Cancer Awareness so we are definitely thinking pink! Many of our colleagues have been struck with this dreaded disease and been down the road conquering their trials and tribulations, and some more than once. Reading the blog written … (31 comments)

dorie dillard: Girl Scout Troops 1164 & 210 Fall Food Drive to benefit Hope Austin - 10/09/18 12:26 PM
I’m so glad to see Girl Scout Troops #1164 and #210 working hard on their 4th Annual Fall Food Drive benefiting Hope Austin! I found a bag (donated by HEB) on my front door step with exactly what donations they need.
They are in need of the following items: Pasta Cans/Packets, Soup Cans, Single Serve Apple Sauce and Single Serve Fruit Cups. The food collected on behalf of Hope Austin will help benefit the 500+ kids per week they serve in our local RRISD.
Hope Austin was started by two Moms who live in our Canyon Creek neighborhood! I love the quote … (17 comments)

dorie dillard: Canyon Creek Third Quarter Market Reports out for distribution - 10/09/18 11:58 AM
My neighborhood Eagle Scout is out delivering my Third Quarter Market Report for Canyon Creek and should be finishing up soon! It helped he had Columbus Day off to give him an extra day to deliver. After I tallied the Third Quarter numbers the statistical reports were printed (1275 for delivery), folded, bagged and are now being personally delivered! Another 100 were printed and mailed to the 2 gated sections of Canyon Creek – The Enclave and Canyon Creek Villas plus Canyon Creek West.
As a 24 year resident of Canyon Creek I know our community inside and out and believe … (12 comments)

dorie dillard: Tuesdays Treasures ~ What a difference a year makes - 10/08/18 12:13 PM

Handsome Hudson and Beautiful Beckett are both playing soccer. Hudson at six has moved up to another league and what a difference a year makes! These kids are all taller and another year under their belt of honing their skills. Great coaching both for the game of soccer but more importantly in sportsmanship..I love what I'm seeing and the two goals scored by Hudson was a special treat too!

dorie dillard: Dishing with Dorie~did you know? 10/15/18 - 10/05/18 01:18 PM
A week-end full of good football games! UT beat Baylor..it wasn't pretty but they won! The Texans won in a thriller game and Hudson and Beckett got to throw a ball with J.J. Watts before the game started! Unfortunately my Geno fell 3 times on Saturday (once when out to dinner with friends Saturday night) when his right knee went out. Quite a hand-full with him this week as we find out what the next step is (no pun intended).

dorie dillard: Thankful Thursdays ~ Yes..... please..... I'm busy working! - 10/04/18 09:37 AM

Beautiful Beckett selected her new prescription glasses all by herself. They certainly match her bold, fun loving personality perfectly! As a Leo (like her Nana) she is self confident and likes to lead in her own way. She is dramatic, has a mind of her own and has no difficulty in voicing her opinions. Love her new specs..they are without doubt a reflection of this little 4 year old's spirited nature.

dorie dillard: The nuts and bolts and then some - 10/03/18 02:28 PM
Many of you know I grew up in upstate New York and have an older sister who lives in CA and a young brother who lives in Pittsburgh. Mom and dad have been gone for years but the three of us siblings remain close even though living worlds apart.
I remember Dad left early for work each day coming back home with his hat in his hand, tired after a long day. As kids we loved climbing trees, building forts, damming up creeks, playing kickball & baseball, picking apples and pears from our trees, ice skating, snow skiing, sledding, building ice … (32 comments)

It’s happening now ~ Week One~ Canyon Creek Bath/house Renovation
Thank you Canyon Creek HOA Board members for keeping the pedal to the metal on getting this Canyon Creek Bath/house renovation started! It’s taken years to come to a consensus but on October 1 the project officially began. The perimeter is fenced off and demolition has begun.
I’m so excited to see progress and can’t wait for next spring to see the finished product! You can check out the drawing at Canyon Creek HOA.
When completed spring of 2019 we can expect to see a completely refurbished facility offering:

dorie dillard: Tuesday's Treasures ~ Player of the week - 10/02/18 08:51 AM

Grand-daughter Maggie Stout really dominated her Westwood High School game against Leander High School last Friday night. With 19 kills she was awarded player of the week and rightfully so! This gal is such a treasure.
Maggie brings charisma to the game and players feed off her energy. She is a consummate team player, her skill sets are remarkable and she gives 150% to each game! So proud of you Maggie!
