friendships: Tuesday's Treasures ~ Reminiscing - 02/17/20 12:19 PM
What a thrilling season of flag football for Handsome Hudson.  The team really came together this year and they learned some wonderful plays and how to execute them.
It's heart warming to see my son's child hood friend's son playing on his team and one of Hudson's best friends now.
The only difference is the sport! The dads swam together on the same swim team until they went off to college......each swimming on a scholarship for different universities.

friendships: Grateful For The Active Rain Community - 11/10/19 06:56 AM
As many of you know my husband "my Geno" passed away the end of September. It's been a devastating blow and I've been trying to gain my equilibrium. But healing is a process and as I learn to "move forward" not "move on" its a challenge. Geno still exists and is a huge part of me which is why I don't like the saying "move on" as if I'm leaving him behind. I recently listened to a Ted Talk and it resonated with me on so many levels. Here is the link. Its short and worth the time to listen.
I've received so many cards with … (58 comments)

friendships: Thankful Thursdays ~ Special Freinds ~ Partners in crime - 09/26/19 04:22 PM
Making time for special friends is something important to me. Birthday celebrations with these three are so special. The neat thing is one of these lovely ladies is my daughter Melissa. Many trips to Dallas Market were made with the 4 partners in crime, always having more fun than a group of gals should be allowed!
Did I mention one time we were joking and laughing so hard we took a turn to Ft. Worth and didn't even realize it. We tried the big hotels and then discovered Hotel ZaZA and found our "spot."
Often we ended up filling a pickup so full … (28 comments)

friendships: Thankful Thursdays ~ Thoughtful Gestures - 09/11/19 05:50 PM
A thoughtful gesture can make your day with a colorful surprise. Last week-end a Coldwell Banker agent/friend and I attended a friend/colleagues funeral. She passed away way too soon from cancer at 54 and it was a humbling experience to witness.
My friend and I have worked together on many transactions and she knows I'm wearing a nurses hat a lot of the time right now as a care giver and took the time to brighten my day. Thank you Vicky Harris for the lovely flowers. ♥

friendships: Motivational Monday ~ The Gift of Friendship - 09/19/11 01:33 AM
Motivational Monday ~ The Gift of Friendship

I feel so blessed to have a very special friend who is also my sister-in-law.
I know many friends who have sister-in-laws that cause them much anguish in their life but this is not the case with mine!

I so enjoy the book by Helen Steiner Rice called "Loving Promises".  Helen has compiled poetry in hopes her work will establish guide posts by which we can live, love and pray.  Helen has a special gift of creativity which brings me comfort and gladness and a promise that God's love is limitless and His … (22 comments)

friendships: Ponder These Questions! - 09/29/09 10:18 AM
I don't know about you but I love the "Peanuts" comic strip!  The following is the philosophy of its creator Charles Schulz:Name the five wealthiest people in the world.

Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.

Name the last five winners of the Miss America pageant.

Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.

Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and  actress.
