gratitude: Embrace the Love: Celebrating National Love Your Pet Day on Feb. 20th - 02/16/24 04:41 PM
February 20th marks the annual observance of National Love Your Pet Day. This special day serves as a reminder to carve out some additional time to express gratitude to our beloved animal companions and acknowledge the immense positive influence they bring into our lives. Whether they're furry, feathery, or even scaly, our pets hold a cherished place in our hearts, enriching our days with their presence.
While National Love Your Pet Day may not be an "official" holiday in the strictest sense, it holds significant meaning for countless pet owners eager to lavish their companions with additional love, pampering, and attention. It's … (10 comments)

gratitude: Legacy of Gratitude: A Timeless Thank You Note from Geno - 01/17/24 07:06 AM
My son shared with me a heartfelt Thank You Note penned by Geno on February 10, 1998. This note was an expression of gratitude for a remarkable birthday gift presented by Carol, the title company closer with whom Geno conducted all his transactions. The occasion was Geno's 60th birthday, and Carol had gifted him a cherished print of downtown Austin from 1938, the year of his birth.
What made this gift truly special was the addition of Geno's high school photo with a message that foresaw his future in residential real estate:
"Oh yes, I will be here someday. And they will … (20 comments)

gratitude: Gratitude Post: Family Bonds and Austin's Joyful Traditions - 11/25/23 07:05 AM
As I sit down to compose my fourth gratitude post for the 2023 November challenge that, Debe Maxwell, CRS is so graciously hosting, my heart is brimming with thankfulness, especially for the vibrant city of Austin and the cherished traditions that bring my family together.
Living in Austin is a daily source of gratitude for me, but this Thanksgiving, the festivities took on an extra special hue. One tradition that stands out is the Thundercloud 5K Turkey Trot, an annual extravaganza that transforms downtown Austin into a sea of energy and camaraderie. This year, a staggering 18,000 runners and walkers hit the streets … (34 comments)

gratitude: A Heartfelt Reflection on Gratitude and Miracles - 11/22/23 03:52 PM
As I reflect on the journey of the past year, I am reminded of the transformative power of gratitude. It has the remarkable ability to elevate ordinary days into moments of thanksgiving, infuse joy into routine tasks, and unveil blessings in the most unexpected opportunities.
So, from my home to yours, I extend heartfelt wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving in 2022. May this day be a celebration of gratitude, a time to wear thankfulness like a comforting cloak that nourishes every corner of our lives. In the wise words of William Arthur Ward, "Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings." And as … (30 comments)

gratitude: Cherishing Precious Moments: A Gratitude Post for My Grandchildren - 11/02/23 06:18 PM
There's no better moment than now to pen and share my very first gratitude post, as part of the November Gratitude Challenge, graciously hosted by Debe Maxwell, CRS. My heart brims with appreciation for my grandchildren (all 5 of them), and their presence in my life is a constant source of joy.
It all began when Sheri Sperry - MCNE® posted about her grandson Tristan and shared photos of Tristan in his Halloween costumes from years gone by. Her photos tugged at my heart strings and I felt a wave of inspiration.
Living in the vibrant city of Austin has its own set … (40 comments)

gratitude: Remembering and Thanking You - 05/29/23 06:28 AM
In the words of President John F. Kennedy: "A nation reveals itself not only by the men it produces, but also by the men it remembers, the men it honors."  Today, let's honor and say a thank you for the brave men and women who gave all and families and loved ones left behind. And as we do so, let's remember our own commitments to live and serve with passion, joy and enthusiasm.

gratitude: Motivational Monday ~ Sharing Gratitude - 12/26/22 02:43 PM
Gratitude is focusing on what’s good in our lives and being thankful for the things we have. For many of us it’s a pause to notice and appreciate the things we often take for granted. When you think about having a place to live, food, clean water, friends, family, even our ability for instant communication with our smart phones, it’s all what we come to expect and take for granted.
Gratitude involves being thankful, but it is really much more. Gratitude means expressing thankfulness and being appreciative of life daily, even when nothing exciting happen.
It’s as important to feel gratitude as it's … (38 comments)

gratitude: Thankful for My Big Sis - 11/22/22 08:35 AM
Last week I flew to LA so I could meet up with my brother and his wife from Pittsburg to help celebrate my sister Susie’s 80th birthday!! Her daughter from Kentucky flew in also. Her other daughter, step-daughter and husbands live close by. They found the perfect restaurant for us to celebrate Susie's 80th birthday in a private dining room. Her face may appear masked-like from Parkinson's but her humor and personality shine through. Her step-daughter's husband loves to write poems and read her a perfect message on her special birthday.
Susie has Parkinson’s and Rotoscoliosis. Rotoscoliosis is the worst and most … (24 comments)

gratitude: A Time to Honor All Our Veterans - 11/10/22 07:21 AM
November 11th is Veterans Day and in honor of those who have served, are serving and those who gave their lives for our nation’s freedom, many folks are enjoying a day off from work.
If you know a veteran, make time to speak with them personally and thank them for their service. If you know a veteran who is no longer with us and is resting in a spot make time to go by, thank them and leave a small flag or flower at their grave. I’ve gone by my Geno's resting spot.

gratitude: Let's Remember, Honor and Say Thank You - 05/26/22 10:33 AM
I’ve always loved these words of President John F. Kennedy:
"A nation reveals itself not only by the men it produces, but also by the men it remembers, the men it honors."
So today, please let’s take time to honor and say thank you for the brave men and women who gave their all, and the families and loved ones left behind.
In doing this, let's remember our own commitments to live and serve with commitment, pride, and passion.

gratitude: Tuesday's Treasures ~ Think of You Everyday - 11/30/21 04:50 AM
I smile because you lived and grateful for all the memories you left behind. My eyes see all your care and devotion you bestowed on me and our family. My heart is full because of the love we shared.

gratitude: Tuesday's Treasures ~ 2021 Girls Thanksgiving - 11/29/21 04:12 PM
I’m so blessed to have enjoyed a special Thanksgiving with 3 generations (Nana, daughter and 2 granddaughters) enjoying the sights and sounds of San Diego. Family was scattered with some enjoying skiing in Breckinridge but didn’t want to leave granddaughter Maggie at San Diego State by herself over Thanksgiving.
Mom, sister and Nana jumped on a flight and enjoyed a first ever “Gals Thanksgiving!”

gratitude: A Thoughtful Thank You - 12/21/20 09:19 AM
It's the holiday season and many are expressing their "Thank You" for those they conducted business with throughout the year. I finished delivering my Poinsettias to clients a week ago and enjoyed delivering to my clients I represented this year.
Upon my return home one day I found a package at my front door from my favorite stager, Brian David. This year he created a unique and authentic ornament that is now hanging on my tree!
I love it and reminds me of how much I enjoy working with him and his crew!

gratitude: Thanksgiving ~ A Time for Expressing Gratitude - 11/25/20 11:46 AM
Thanksgiving celebration will be different this year for many. November is usually the time to be thankful, a time to remember and to embrace those who enrich our lives.
While 2020 has been fraught with so many challenges gratitude can be expressed for so many things. Please take time to express thankfulness for those special people in your life. If you know someone in need, take time to reach out to them. Everyone needs to feel loved and special.
Wishing you all a blessed holiday!

gratitude: Closing One Door Opens Another - 11/22/20 06:52 AM
2020 has been a year of challenges and is not over yet. I’m not alone. As I reflect on the past year I discover many blessings. The highlight of my gratitude, comes from the realization closing one door opens another.
Slowly this year, coming through the sorrow of losing my soul-mate, Geno at the end of September in 2019, feels like being reborn into a new world. I see things from the world I knew, my home, my community, my family, friends and colleagues but everything has a new coloration, just like the beautiful sunsets at the end of each day.

gratitude: Thankful for Disruption it Triggered New Thinking - 11/14/20 09:19 PM
2020 is a year of continued challenges in every facet of our life. Why should it not include the Active Rain Platform? AR appeared to be crashing every day. Like many I needed a break from the disruption, chaos and stress associated with all things Active Rain.
The interesting thing I found is disruption triggered new thinking. I started pondering and talking about things I cared about and understood. I found a myriad of areas in my business that needed a tune up so why not take advantage of the time down from AR?
I began reaching out to past clients with … (24 comments)

gratitude: Thankful Thursdays ~ Happy Thanksgiving! - 11/28/19 05:08 AM
This is my first Thanksgiving without my Geno. Thanksgiving means a special occasion to our family because it's a time to express our sincere thanks for all our blessings. Paw Paw will be missed leading our prayer before dinner, making the gravy and dressing and contributing to the over all festive atmosphere with his witty remarks and bantering with everyone.
There will be new traditions made and I will rejoice in the rich fabric of family and friends which holds me safe, and grateful, at a time like this.
May you and those near you enjoy a bountiful Thanksgiving, a happy holiday season, and … (15 comments)

gratitude: Saturday's Shots ~ Flower Power - 07/12/19 08:15 PM
As many of you know my Geno has been ill since last October. His congestive heart failure has advanced and he is on oxygen 24/7. Yesterday we entered into a new phase with hospice and a hospital bed was delivered to the house.  The kids pop by frequently to chat and always brings such a smile to his face...each day is a gift and he cherishes every day he is granted. He is still able to get up and some days are better than others.
As always my Coldwell Banker Northwest office is here for us. A brilliant bouquet of flowers was delivered to … (15 comments)
