gratitude: Let's Remember, Honor and Say Thank You - 05/26/22 10:33 AM
I’ve always loved these words of President John F. Kennedy:
"A nation reveals itself not only by the men it produces, but also by the men it remembers, the men it honors."
So today, please let’s take time to honor and say thank you for the brave men and women who gave their all, and the families and loved ones left behind.
In doing this, let's remember our own commitments to live and serve with commitment, pride, and passion.

"No duty is more urgent than that of returning thanks."
... St Ambrose
Wishing you a reflective Memorial Day.........

gratitude: Tuesday's Treasures ~ Think of You Everyday - 11/30/21 04:50 AM
I smile because you lived and grateful for all the memories you left behind. My eyes see all your care and devotion you bestowed on me and our family. My heart is full because of the love we shared.

gratitude: Tuesday's Treasures ~ 2021 Girls Thanksgiving - 11/29/21 04:12 PM
I’m so blessed to have enjoyed a special Thanksgiving with 3 generations (Nana, daughter and 2 granddaughters) enjoying the sights and sounds of San Diego. Family was scattered with some enjoying skiing in Breckinridge but didn’t want to leave granddaughter Maggie at San Diego State by herself over Thanksgiving.

Mom, sister and Nana jumped on a flight and enjoyed a first ever “Gals Thanksgiving!”

gratitude: A Thoughtful Thank You - 12/21/20 09:19 AM
It's the holiday season and many are expressing their "Thank You" for those they conducted business with throughout the year. I finished delivering my Poinsettias to clients a week ago and enjoyed delivering to my clients I represented this year.
Upon my return home one day I found a package at my front door from my favorite stager, Brian David. This year he created a unique and authentic ornament that is now hanging on my tree!
I love it and reminds me of how much I enjoy working with him and his crew!

gratitude: Thanksgiving ~ A Time for Expressing Gratitude - 11/25/20 11:46 AM
Thanksgiving celebration will be different this year for many. November is usually the time to be thankful, a time to remember and to embrace those who enrich our lives.
While 2020 has been fraught with so many challenges gratitude can be expressed for so many things. Please take time to express thankfulness for those special people in your life. If you know someone in need, take time to reach out to them. Everyone needs to feel loved and special.
Wishing you all a blessed holiday!

gratitude: Closing One Door Opens Another - 11/22/20 06:52 AM
2020 has been a year of challenges and is not over yet. I’m not alone. As I reflect on the past year I discover many blessings. The highlight of my gratitude, comes from the realization closing one door opens another.
Slowly this year, coming through the sorrow of losing my soul-mate, Geno at the end of September in 2019, feels like being reborn into a new world. I see things from the world I knew, my home, my community, my family, friends and colleagues but everything has a new coloration, just like the beautiful sunsets at the end of each day.

gratitude: Thankful for Disruption it Triggered New Thinking - 11/14/20 09:19 PM
2020 is a year of continued challenges in every facet of our life. Why should it not include the Active Rain Platform? AR appeared to be crashing every day. Like many I needed a break from the disruption, chaos and stress associated with all things Active Rain.
The interesting thing I found is disruption triggered new thinking. I started pondering and talking about things I cared about and understood. I found a myriad of areas in my business that needed a tune up so why not take advantage of the time down from AR?
I began reaching out to past clients with … (24 comments)

gratitude: Thankful Thursdays ~ Happy Thanksgiving! - 11/28/19 05:08 AM
This is my first Thanksgiving without my Geno. Thanksgiving means a special occasion to our family because it's a time to express our sincere thanks for all our blessings. Paw Paw will be missed leading our prayer before dinner, making the gravy and dressing and contributing to the over all festive atmosphere with his witty remarks and bantering with everyone.
There will be new traditions made and I will rejoice in the rich fabric of family and friends which holds me safe, and grateful, at a time like this.
May you and those near you enjoy a bountiful Thanksgiving, a happy holiday season, and … (15 comments)

gratitude: Gratitude For Our Veterans - 11/11/19 06:17 AM
It's Veterans Day and in honor of those who have served, are serving and those who gave their lives for our nations freedom, many folks are enjoying a day off from work.
If you know a veteran make time to speak with them personally today and thank them for their service. If you know a veteran who is no longer with us and is resting in a spot make time to go by, thank them and leave a small flag or flower at their grave. I will be going by my Geno's resting spot today.

My Geno served in the Navy in the … (17 comments)

gratitude: Saturday's Shots ~ Flower Power - 07/12/19 08:15 PM
As many of you know my Geno has been ill since last October. His congestive heart failure has advanced and he is on oxygen 24/7. Yesterday we entered into a new phase with hospice and a hospital bed was delivered to the house.  The kids pop by frequently to chat and visit..it always brings such a smile to his face...each day is a gift and he cherishes every day he is granted. He is still able to get up and some days are better than others.
As always my Coldwell Banker Northwest office is here for us. A brilliant bouquet of flowers was delivered to … (15 comments)

gratitude: Not so Speechless Sunday ~ Sunday morning surprise - 05/27/18 08:14 AM

I love my Sunday morning surprise in our back yard pots! Agapanthus or Lily of the Nile are some of my favorite flowering plants. This year because of all the rain and some landscaping projects we had undertaken our pots were not planted until a little later in the spring. This morning when I went out for a morning cup of coffee I found a wonderful surprise..the first Agapanthus to open!! Happy Sunday!!

gratitude: Showing the next generation how to be grateful - 11/23/10 11:16 PM
I enjoy reading Great Schools and this post on grateful children peeked my interest:
The Grateful Child
We have the privilege of being able to watch and participate in the lives of our 5 grandchildren.  They are each their own personality and we see firsthand that grateful children are healthier and happier.  We love to attend their activities they are trying on for size.  After all you don't know if you like to play soccer, volleyball, football or play the piano until you try.  We are there to "be there" for them and let them know we are proud and support … (18 comments)

gratitude: The Be Thankful Challenge - 11/05/10 10:19 AM
I'm getting in the swing of  "the be thankful challenge"!  I have a daughter, Melissa, a son John and a stepson Jeff.  All are very important to me.  Melissa was my first born child and John was the baby, Jeff came into the fold later in life.
Rose Kennedy's quote sums up my outlook on motherhood:
"I look on child-rearing not only as a work of  love and duty, but, as a profession that was fully as interesting and challenging as any honorable profession in the world and one that demanded the best I could bring to it."

gratitude: Humor Me ~ Make Yourself A Gratitude List - 03/01/10 05:23 AM
Are there some days you feel like the cards are stacked against you?  Or do you feel like someone has singled you out to make you feel as if nothing you  do is right? Everyone encounters days like this and the best thing to do is look at  your gratitude list.  What you don't have one?  Humor me and sit down amd make one right now.A gratitude list is different for everyone but the one thing in common they all share is when reading your own, it will bring a smile to your face and a dance in your heart!I'll share … (20 comments)

gratitude: Thanksgiving Message 2009 - 11/25/09 06:58 AM

I have received; as all of you have, many wonderful Thanksgiving messages this season.
I received one from Stefan Swanepoel that I felt truly communicated heartfelt Thanksgiving blessings for 2009 and wanted to share with all of you:

A day when we are asked to remember our many blessings.Freedom...    to think, to love, to live.Life...    whose most valued treasures are a special gift.Happiness...    that doesn't come from     what we own    but from the love of    family and friends.Thanksgiving is in...    our gratitude and attitude,    our giving and sharing,    our well-being and health,    and above all our … (12 comments)
