                  Yippee!  More Good News For Austin!
In case you didn't catch the news release on Friday, June 18th on the May 2010 payroll job numbers by the Texas Work Force Commission and U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Austin has much to celebrate!
Out of the top 50 Metro Areas in the U.S., Austin ranked number one with 4,000 jobs created - a .5% positive job growth - one of only 4 metros to have year-over-year job growth.  This is the second month of positive job growth for Austin.  We are only 15,700 jobs short of the November 2008 peakof 783,400 … (6 comments)

  Good news for Austin!
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released on 12/2/08 data that shows employment in the Austin-Round Rock region increased by 1.9% between October 2007 and October 2008 outpacing many of Austin's economic development competitors.
 According to to the report the local region added in the 12 month period approximately 14,700 jobs.  This brought the total employment total to roughly 781,000. 
  Check out other competitor's ratings:
  San Jose, Calif. added 700 jobs for a 0.8% increase
Raleigh, N.C. added 8,800 jobs for a 1.7% increase
Nashville, Tenn. lost 2,200 jobs for a 0.3% decrease
