Canyon Creek Cyclones Swim Meet in NW Austin was roaring success Saturday, June 26, 2010!
I stopped Saturday and captured some fun and excitement of this 2 hour event.  This is just one of many activities that you can participate in as a resident.
The Canyon Creek Cyclones Swim Team is open to any resident of Canyon Creek who is 5 years old as of January 2010. The practices and meets are held in our community pool.

Swimming is a sport started at an early age in Austin.  A role model of the top Long Horn Swim Team doesn't hurt to get a youngster interested.
There are many summer league programs to join which gets kids up and active racing to swim practice during the week (yes, that means rolling out of bed early during summer vacation) and competing with their team on weekends at swim meets.  It is a family affair as it takes the effort of parents to organize age groups, sell food at the concession stands, time the races and so much more.

Saturday, July 11, 2009 the Canyon Creek Cyclone Swim Team had another well attended internal swim meet.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
There were cars parked around Canyon Creek Park!

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
The kids had their spots staked out around the pool and some had tents set up to mark their territory and keep out the hot rays of the sun.

swim teams: Go Sharks ~ Eat My Bubbles! - 07/01/09 08:51 AM

Two of my granddaughters swim in a summer league on "The Sharks Swim Team".  It is like dejavu attending these meets! My son starting swimming for the "Sharks" 26 years ago!  He is still swimming with 2 Ironman races under his belt.
Youngest granddaughter Maggie was in rare form last Saturday (as always) and couldn't wait to get in and get her races under way! She moved up from the ready bench chair, handed her card in allowing her to advance to the diving platform!
