This past August we traveled to Chamonix, France. We hopped on the gondola, The L'Aiguille du Midi, and soared to dizzying heights to the top of the Mont-Blance Massive. Watching the hikers trudge up the mountain we spotted two who were breaking away from the pack and going it alone. It reminded me of Tobias George Smollett's quote:

NW Austin TX ~ Canyon Creek ~ September 2011 Statistical ReportThe good news continues for Canyon Creek! In September 2011 home sales were up 100% over August 2010!
The average sold price was down only 1.06%. Since the average square footage of home sales was down 8.63% (buyers purchasing smaller homes) it makes sense the average SOLD price/Sq. Ft. was up 5.74%. The average days on market were up 9.76%. However with the Central Texas fires and the drought it stands to reason many showings were put on hold.

Austin TX ~ August 2011 Inventory of Homes and Months of Supply DecliningAccording to the Austin Board of Realtor in comparing the past 12 Months Supply of Inventory we can see the average is 6.8 months which has remained constant compared to 2010. However, in comparing August 2010 to August 2011 the Months Supply of Inventory has fallen 21.2%.
In reviewing the Inventory of Homes for Sale for the past year they are down 6.1% and in comparing August 2010 to 2011 inventory of homes for sale are down 24.2%

On October 22, 2011 the "Austin Stiletto Stampede for the Cure" will be featuring the 100 yard dash in four race heats ~ one for survivors, another for competitive runners, a third for moms and dads and a fourth for dogs and their owners.
Real women run in high hieels...this is not for the faint of heart. Registration is $40. A group of volunteers in 2009 created "The Austin Stiletto Stampede for the Cure" a non-profit organization.
