Factoids are important as Austin is growing at a spectacular rate of growth. Austin possesses an infrastructure that is ready to sustain local business. In 2010 over 18 companies moved offices or headquarters to Austin. This translates to record breaking relocation business.Undergraduate and graduate education in Austin is impressive! Austin Community College - Austin, Texas Sets Enrollment RecordWow...the fall of 2010 Austin Community College saw a 10% jump in its credit student enrollment, setting a new record. The total credit enrollments peaked at 44,100 spread throughout its 8 campuses. Last fall enrollment was 40,248 students. The Northridge campus has the highest ACC enrollment with 10,219 students.ACC also has an additional 15,000 students enrolled in non-credit courses. There are 235 degrees and certificates offered plus a wide range of other educational choices to meet the needs of residents and employers in an eight county service area.ACC is the leading source (8 comments)

ut: In Canyon Creek ~ Round One ~ Chicken vs. Penguin

A UT graduate won the jackpot in a contest sponsored by Nikon for his short video "Chicken vs. Penguin." Mark Slavnic beat out 1,200 other entries with this funny and sweetly innocent clip and won the $100,000 price!! What's really cool is a CanyonCreek resident, A.J. Genzlinger who is a senior at Westwood High School was one of the actors in the film. A.J. believed in the film and worked for free but that will change according to Marko as he shows his appreciation for A.J.'s faith in the project. Check out this entertaining video: (8 comments)
I was at a mail center the other day and saw a young lady with a big orange box mailing something and she was mailing it free! I asked her what Chegg.com was on the big orange box...something new at UT? She rents her text books for her classes at the University of Texas for usually half the retail value. When she is done she ships the books back in the orange box provided by Chegg for free! Chegg.com came online in 2007 and has rented more than 2 million books to 6,400 schools! The Austin Realtor Magazine just showed up in our mail. I always like to read the Legal Topics because they cover some pretty relevant topics. Don R. Hancock is a partner in Hancock & McGill, L.L.P., attorneys at law, in Austin and usually writes the articles. He received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University in 1968 and his J.D. degree from the University of Texas Law School in 1971.
