virginia beach: Monster Trucks On The Beach - 05/12/11 02:10 AM
It has been our tradition for the past 6 years we go to Monster Trucks on the Beach every year for Mothers Day.  This year they had Grave Digger, Stone Crusher, Mopar Magic, El Toro Loco, Bad Habit, Gunslinger and of course Megasaurus.
I couldn't think of a better way to spend my day with my wonderful boys!!  This year had to have been the most exciting I think because Stone Crusher crashed and fell over during his freestyle and then Grave Digger lost his back tire during the freestyle.
They also had the YOUNGEST MONSTER TRUCK DRIVER ( … (0 comments)

I got the wonderful opportunity to volunteer and attend the Norfolk Sertoma Spring Fever 2010 event.  There were 2500 people in attendance at the event and got to meet new folks, catch up with old friends and the entertainment by Butter.
I will definitely be back next year!
Here are a few highlights all taken from my little flip cam!

virginia beach: Face The Pain Gym - Virginia Beach - 01/03/10 05:31 AM
Meet Billy Yancey owner of Face The Pain Gym located at 2312 Virginia Beach Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23454.
Time to kick off the 2010 new years fitness resolutions and no better place than with Face The Pain Gym.  I haven't worked out regularly since Hunter my 4 1/2 yr old was born and just tired of making excuses.  No more baby belly for me so no better time than now.
I know it is an amateur video but this is also one of my resolutions is to try and do more video. So please be kind with your comments.

virginia beach: Don't Underestimate The Power Of The Handwritten Note - 07/17/09 02:35 PM
I am 100% on board with technology, social networking and making things easier to communicate by emailing, texting and even skyping.  I have been teaching and speaking quite a bit lately around Hampton Roads for various groups and organzizations.
Well yesterday I got a handwritten card in the mail from a real estate agent thanking me for speaking at an event.  I thought it was so thoughtful and something that I will keep in my binder of recommendations.

Thank you Robin McIsaac!
When was the last time you took the time to say thank you the good old fashioned way?

virginia beach: Bloom - A Different Kind Of Grocery Store in Virginia Beach - 02/20/09 05:50 AM
As a mother to 2 small boys going to the grocery store can often be a "chore".  I am always looking for ways to cut corners and make my life a bit easier.  I love Walmart and the great savings I get from shopping there but often dread the long lines and congestion that comes with it.

Well at Bloom they offer "a different kind of grocery store".  I like because they have parking spots up front for Parents With Children.  And when you are carrying a 7 month old and holding a 3 yr olds hand across a parking … (11 comments)

virginia beach: NO Service - No Problem! - 02/18/09 08:28 AM

Don't you hate it when you are needing to use your cell phone and then you get the dreaded "No Service"
Well I did find out some great news - at least for blackberry users that I had no idea we could use and might save you a call to the "Customer Service"
We recently moved to an area where we have ZERO cell phone coverage and that is just not acceptable when our phones are our #1 resource besides our computer for our jobs.  I think on average my husband alone can talk about 4000 minutes a month.

virginia beach: A Snowy Day In Virginia Beach! - 02/16/09 06:50 AM
I can't believe that when we woke up this morning there was ACTUALLY snow covering the rooftops and cars.  It wasn't alot to most people but I can't remember the last time we saw snow here.  Luckily, the schools and most businesses were closed today due to the Presidents Day Holiday.  Otherwise, I am sure they would have shut down the city.
This is practically a one time event here in Virginia Beach.  I come from the Midwest and my husband comes from upstate New York so it was kind of refreshing to see the snow on the ground every once … (11 comments)

virginia beach: It's So Hard To Say Goodbye..... - 02/16/09 01:34 AM
Tomorrow is the big day. We listed our house here in Virginia Beach in August 2007 and are now scheduled to close tomorrow afternoon. 1 1/2 years to the closing table, I didn't think it was actually going to happen.

I know it was only a house but it had alot of memories for me there as we literallly started our little family there.  We did a final walk through in our now empty home and it did cause me to be a bit emotional walking through all of the rooms with my boys.
I know alot of other people … (15 comments)

virginia beach: Virginia Beach Alarm Registry - 01/22/09 06:47 AM
I got an alarm registration in the mail last week and wanted to share with others in case you didn't receive.
Virginia Beach Police Department has asked that you register your business or home if you have a security system with a one time $10 fee.  The reason behind this is that they receive 22,000 false alarms a year and needs to be able to keep database up and to help cover costs.
You are allowed 2 false alarms per year and then it goes to $150 for homes and $250 for businesses.
I have had an alarm system in my … (4 comments)
