new year: Wishing You A... - 12/31/22 06:16 AM
...Happy New Year with ALL the blessings you can handle.
As we take the leap into 2023 (btw, there is no (choice...lol) we all have visions of what we want to accomplish with our businesses and our lives.
Although we each receive a clean slate to write on each and every day,  the new year highlights the excitement of new beginnings & fresh starts. We have our public hopes and those things we keep deep inside daring not to utter or share. Whatever your dreams are I pray that we can each realize those hopes, dreams, and goals in 2023.
We will need … (21 comments)

new year: Guess What? - 12/26/21 06:28 AM
It SNOWED last night! Just a couple of inches. Since yesterday was freezing rain and the roads were treacherous (Our town's sander truck even slid off the road) we asked our expected guests if they could come today. Pam & I had a very relaxing day and, believe it or not...in the 48 years we've known each other this is the FIRST Christmas it's been just the two of us.
Here we are marching right along to the New Year 2022. It's eye-opening to realize that just 22 years ago it was Y2K and everyone was freaking out about computers crashing AND … (32 comments)

new year: Back to Work... - 01/04/21 08:35 AM
It's back to work for me! I took the month of December off as our 2nd son got married and the holiday season was in full swing.
Now the holidays are over, the new year has arrived, covid remains with us, still causing uncertainty, BUT, the Real Estate market is a resilient market as are Real Estate professionals.
What does the Real Estate market have in store for us in 2021? I don't know, yet, I suspect we will see more of the same with low inventory, high buyer demand, rising prices, low interest rates, and Realtors® taking the proper precautions … (10 comments)

new year: It's A New Year... - 01/01/21 11:14 AM
...and hope runs eternal.
The only resolution I'm making to take everything 1-day at a time. I can't do anything about yesterday except learn from it. Funny what hindsight offers. (p.s. I won't say hindsight is 2020).
There's nothing I can do about tomorrow except prepare for it even though I don't know what it holds or even if I have tomorrow or even next breath! Thus, I only have this present moment in time to live in.
Now, I do have plans.
Adjust my weight to 195 pounds (currently 228) through low impact exercise (walking & light resistance training) Read the entirety of … (23 comments)

new year: In a Few Short Hours... - 12/31/19 08:21 AM
...It will be the New Year 2020! Each New Year is met with expectations, hopes, resolutions, and new or old goals. I'm really taken by the fact that Y2K was, what seems, just a couple of years ago BUT it's now 21 years later!!!
Are you making resolution(s)? It may sound schmaltzy but my resolution for the New Year is to become a better person, be more willing to accept and adapt to the inevitable change(s) that are bound to occur and take more time off now that Pam retired in 2019.
My 2020 goal for Active Rain is to hit the 1,000,000 … (18 comments)

new year: Are You a Pig? - 02/05/19 06:51 AM
Today 5 February 2019 begins Chinese New Year. According to the Chinese Zodiac, 2019 is the year of the Pig.
Pig is the twelfth in the 12-year cycle of Chinese zodiac sign. The Years of the Pig include 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019, 2031, 2043...The Pig is not thought to be a smart animal in China. It likes sleeping and eating and becomes fat. Thus it usually features laziness and clumsiness. On the positive side, it behaves itself, has no plan to harm others, and can bring affluence to people. Consequently, it has been regarded as wealth.

new year: Can You Believe... - 01/01/18 07:49 PM
...That we are in the 18th year of the century? It doesn't seem all that long ago when the world was supposed to stop because of the Y2K phenomenon.
Now, here we are in 2018. What's in store for us is a good question. But, that's what makes life exciting, isn't it? The unknown. We can make plans, set goals, and make resolutions. We can achieve everything we put our minds to yet we are not guaranteed even our next breath. So, the question is; how will we prioritize our lives so we live life abundantly? After dragging Pam around to all his daily … (16 comments)

new year: The Rooster Is In The House! - 01/28/17 08:15 AM
The Chinese New Year has arrived. This year is the year of the Rooster. Specifically the Fore Rooster. Apparently, the Fire Rooster appears every 60 years. The last appearance was 1957. Fire Roosters have a strong sense of time, are trustworthy and are good at managing money.
According to Chinese Zodiac signs people born in the Year of Rooster have many excellent characteristics, such as being honest, bright, communicative and ambitious. Most of them are born pretty or handsome and prefer to dress up. In daily life, they seldom rely on others. However, they might be enthusiastic about something quickly, but soon be impassive. … (12 comments)

new year: A New Years Eve Comet?? - 12/31/16 05:54 AM
It's here, New Years Eve has arrived and there's more happening than just a celebration. According to NASA we will be able to observe a comet, 45P/Honda. The video below provides information. 45P/Honda will be visible some time after sunset as it passes by the sun. Then on February 11th 45P/Honda will be its closest to Earth. So while you're celebrating the entrance of the new year we might just have fireworks in the sky above.
Happy New Year!!!

new year: Making Plans... - 12/28/16 07:15 AM
Are you making plans for 2017? I'd rather say plans than resolutions. Personally, I'm quite optimistic, or, maybe a better word would be hopeful for the upcoming New Year. When we change Presidents I think there is renewed energy among people. I predict another good year for Real Estate. As rates continue to trend up it may send an action signal to sellers AND buyers.
A quick thought...Does it seem like Y2K was almost 2 decades ago...LOL

new year: It's Goodbye... - 12/28/16 07:10 AM
It's right around the corner...The time is near...Are you ready to kick 2016 off the cliff and ready for 2017? It seems like yesterday we were all worried about Y2K and the consequences that could happen with computers. I'm excited with the prospects of 2017 from a new Presidental Administration and another good year in the Real Estate industry. There seems to be optimism in the air even with all the world events going on around us.
Let's all resolve to make our little corners of the world a better place in 2017

new year: Here We Go Again... - 01/01/16 11:51 PM
New Year Resolutions used to be a fun thing to do until the day I realized it was an exercise of wishful thinking. We all had a number of resolutions that had good intentions but no real motivation to accomplish them. So, why bother?
Many of the items were big items like, lose 50 pounds, get in shape, declutter the house, clean out the garage and on and on and on. Then on top of that came the Real Estate resolutions. The list became so long and daunting it was overwhelming and when things seem overwhelming things don't get accomplished, plain & simple.
What's the … (17 comments)
