schools education: Considering a Move?

Moving has never been one of my favorite things to do, although, we've moved a few times during our marriage. The question posed is; Is Now a Good Time to Move? It'll be a different answer for each seller or buyer. There are many reasons to move... (not in any specific order) * Need more space or a home office due to COVID-19 * New job * Downsize after the kids are grown * A move-up move * Be closer to family or multi-generational arrangement * School District * More rural area or be closer to the city * A less expensive area * OR... On this 28th day in December of 1945 the United States Congress Officially Recognized the Pledge of Allegiance. The words Under God were added on Flag Day 1954. Here's a Timeline: August 1892 - Pledge written by Francis Bellamy. September 1892 - Pledge published in the Youth's Companion. April 1898 - NY passes 1st law requiring recitation of the Pledge, in schools. 1923 to 1924 - National Flag Congress authorize words changed from, "I pledge allegiance to my flag" to "I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America. June 1942 - the Flag Code becomes law (77th Congress) June 1954 - President Eisenhower signs bill to include "Under God".

schools education: It's Finally Here...

On Wednesday, February 15, 2017, the Georgetown Senior Community Center officially opened its doors. We converted a vacated section of one of the Town's School buildings since those 2 grades, K-1, moved to the brand new K-6 facility. The first event was the Senior Citizen Luncheon and catered by the Whittier VoTech Culinary Arts students, who served a baked haddock meal to the 100 or so attendees. This was truly a community effort. The Whittier VoTech construction program provided students who worked on framing and installing the sheetrock in the office area.
