Merriam Webster defines “Networking” as “the exchange of information or services among individuals, groups, or institutions; specifically the cultivation of productive relationships for employment or business.” The text book definition is pretty broad, but I think that it is appropriately so. Networking can be anything from a formal organization of business owners learning about one another’s services to the very informal chatting up of a fellow parent at their child’s soccer game. For the uninitiated, connecting with strangers and sharing what you do and how you can help them can be intimidating. Coming from corporate America, I initially found it awkward … (2 comments)
