realtors: What does Chess and REALTORS® Have In Common? - 01/17/12 01:24 PM
If you are a chess player you know that it is a game of planning, strategy, constant changes, wins and defeats. Make the wrong move and checkmate. Real estate for REALTORS® is no different. Both real estate and chess have similarities. Let’s look at the history of Chess. Chess can be traced back to India in the 1500’s then known as chaturaṅga; “which translates as "four divisions (of the military)": infantry, cavalry, elephantry, and chariotry, represented by the pieces that would evolve into the modern pawn, knight, bishop, and rook, respectively.”[1] . Chess spread to Persia and later to southern Europe. … (1 comments)

realtors: It's Been A While - 09/14/10 03:52 AM
It's been a tough past couple of years, still recovering. Spent a period of time working for hourly wage. Yuck! Streee and my heart dictated a change. So I'm back in the pack. Never quite left real estate, but, part time doesn't cut it. Now I can devote my time to real estate full time, and as much time as needed to our new promotional product business.
I am learning that a lot of Realtors, Attorney's, Dentists, and other business people see the value of having their name before people. The more the better. My wife and I started a promotional product … (0 comments)

realtors: How should you communicate with Internet prospects? - 05/20/08 12:13 PM
Who has the best answer to the question, "How should you communicate with Internet prospects?"
Everybody has an opinion on this topic. What really works, not in theory or concept, but, in practice? Personally, I think asking questions of a prospect is a turn off. I like to start out with offering information and advise without being apparent about it. Leaving it up to the prospect to take it to the next level. Here are two samples:
"Many homebuyers, especially first time homebuyers, are not fully informed about home inspections. Leaving themselves open for problems down the road. On my website, … (3 comments)

realtors: What Makes A Luxury Home In Tucson - 05/06/08 03:06 AM
I’ve noticed a lot of inquiries for luxury homes lately. Which brings to mind. What is a luxury home? What are the different levels of luxury homes? It used to be that anything over $500,000 in Tucson was considered a luxury home. Is there a difference between granite counter tops in a $350,000 and a $900,000 home? What difference is there between an $850,000 home and a $2,500,000 home? What can you expect?  READ MORE

realtors: What is a homebuyers initial greatest fear? - 11/06/07 08:05 AM
As a REALTOR® who works a lot with buyers (who while in between sits site sales) I get a good feeling for buyer fears. The biggest initial fear isn’t whether the home they choose to buy is worth the value. It isn’t whether they can afford the payments. It isn’t whether the home is big enough to meet their needs. All those fears will come in good time if they don’t pick the right REALTOR®. I would imagine that Tucson real estate is no different than real estate anywhere else when it comes to buyer’s initial fear. Home buyers feel it on the Internet, … (4 comments)

realtors: What Does Golf and Selling A Home Have In Common? - 08/29/07 02:10 AM
As a golfer I see a lot of similarities between golf and different aspects of life. There are so many good books out there about golf that relates to life.  Everything from Zen For Golf to Fairways of Life. Both of which I have read and recommend.
As a Realtor I started looking for how golf and real estate compares. What does selling a home and golf have in common?
Stepping up to the tee unprepared without practicing you have no idea where the ball is going to go. You want it to fly straight down the fairway and not land in … (4 comments)

realtors: So You've Been Trained, So What - 06/08/07 02:12 AM
Have you ever gone to so many real estate seminars that you just can't think straight? There are seminars for selling, seminars for listing, seminars for negotiations, referrals, marketing, developing systems, organization, motivation, and on and on and on.
I'm not knocking seminars. Some are very good. Each has a sole purpose...You! They want you to join their followers. The theme is for you to do better. We all need to do better, especially in a market that has gotten tough.  Just like in college where there are career students who keep going to class and keep learning. There are seminar groupies out there too. They just … (7 comments)
