md home: What just happened? How not to sell your Silver Spring, MD home! - 11/05/13 06:18 AM
What just happened? said my buyer and I at the same time and as soon as we were a safe distance away from the house we were just looking at.
We barely had made our way into the kitchen when we heard screams coming from upstairs ... the bloody murder kind. Suddenly people were everywhere, some were standing around as if under the influence in a daze, others were running up and down the stairs and yelling to call the cops, to interfere, to make him stop ...
My buyer and I couldn't get out fast enough. What just … (5 comments)

md home: The difference staging can make! - 07/26/13 11:52 AM
When selling your vacant Silver Spring, MD area property, staging can make a huge difference. Simply put, staging will turn a house into a home and that is exactly what Silver Spring, MD home buyers are looking for!
A case in point, my listing in the Arora Hills subdivision of Clarksburg, MD. The house had a lot of beautiful and desirable features but it didn't seem warm, comfortable and homey. Staging the main areas - entrance, living & dining room, kitchen and master bedroom - took care of that!

md home: Your Silver Spring, MD home won't sell if it can't be shown - 04/15/13 01:45 PM

The Real Estate market in the Silver Spring, MD area has changed dramatically over the last few months. We jumped from one extreme to the other, from buyer's to seller's market, with only a short time of some balance in between.
Buyer traffic is up by huge numbers (40% according to RISMedia) compared to a year ago. At the same time seller traffic has slowed ... and the result is a shortage of inventory.
Many homes are literally flying off the market and multiple offer situations are more of a norm than an exception. When making an offer on a Silver Spring, … (9 comments)

md home: "Will your Silver Spring seller take less for their home?" - 01/09/13 08:48 AM

"I know this is a favorite question for any listing agent" the buyer's agent started out, "but will your seller take less?"
As a Silver Spring, MD area listing agent there is only one way to answer this question: "Thank you very much for the interest but, as you know, an offer is so much more than just price. Please put it in writing and I would be happy to present it!"
It is my job to: guide my sellers through the pre-listing stage, assist with preparing the home for the market, gather all necessary disclosures, take a close look at recent … (15 comments)
