A recent survey by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification found 81% of U.S. homeowners feel that their family's health is directly related to the cleanliness of their floors. 33% of the people surveyed said that someone in their household suffers from indoor allergies. Also, 50% of those households agree that the type of flooring can contribute to allergies. More than 77% of homeowners vacuum their floors at least once per week. professional: Do Open Houses Work?

I can't give answer for any other area except for the Houston, TX area. The answer in my experience is NO! Why would a seller want the agent they hire have them wake up early on a Saturday or Sunday morning to make the house sparkle and then get kicked out for three to five hours? There aren't that many things that the seller can do weekend after weekend while their agent is holding their open house. Secondly, holding an open house really isn't productive.
