Katy, Texas is on track to become the next major medical center of the west Houston area.  Right now there are two hospitals currently built and treating patients.  At Fry Rd. just off of I10 you will find the Chritsus St. Catherine Hospital and at I10 just west of the Grand Parkway (HWY 99) you can be treated at Memorial Hermann Hospital.  Soon there will be St. Lukes Hospital at the Grand Parkway and Kingsland (south of I10).  Then Methodist Hospital and Texas Children's Hospital already have the land purchased to build next door to each … (0 comments)

texas: Polo Anyone? - 03/14/08 10:39 AM

Aliana is the newest development in Sugar Land Texas (Fort Bend County).  There is so much this new master planned community has to offer.  The plans show there to be a polo field, along with plenty of green space, commercial, and luxury hotel.  It looks like you will be able to live, shop, play and not have the out of town relatives in your house.  What else do you want from the newest concept in the area?  Give it a look on their website and when you want to go take a look, then give me a call and I'd be glad to … (1 comments)

texas: Sugar Land Toots its Own Horn! - 03/10/08 05:15 AM

Sugar Land, Texas (suburb of Houston) has put up with the sound of train horns blowing all hours of the day and night!  Well, after many years technology has finally caught up with the train.  In the city of Sugar Land, all of the railroad crossings now have the new wayside horns.  The train is not allowed to blow their horn since the new horns emit a narrow, quieter cone of sound directed at the intersection.  This will eliminate the need for the train to warn everyone within a five mile radius that is there.  Since there are 10 intersections … (0 comments)

texas: Why Am I The Way I AM? - 07/04/07 02:15 AM
This is a poem that my wife recieved from a friend of hers.  The author is unknown.
Keep in mind that my wife works in the title business and I'm in real estate... I wonder what she's trying to tell me?
WHY AM I THE WAY I AM?
Last night as I lay sleeping
I died or so it seemed,
Then I went up to heaven
But only in my dream
Up there St. Peter met me
Standing at the pearly gates,
He said, "I must check your record
Please stand here and wait."
He turned and said, "Your record
is covered with terrible flaws,
On earth I see you rallied
For every losing … (8 comments)

texas: Do Open Houses Work? - 06/30/07 02:09 PM
I can't give answer for any other area except for the Houston, TX area.  The answer in my experience is NO!  Why would a seller want the agent they hire have them wake up early on a Saturday or Sunday morning to make the house sparkle and then get kicked out for three to five hours?
There aren't that many things that the seller can do weekend after weekend while their agent is holding their open house.  Secondly, holding an open house really isn't productive.  It's considered passive.  This is because the agent advertises the open house but has NO control over … (30 comments)
