It's a beautiful spring day in Oswego, IL as I review various news emails from around the country. The sounds of mowing is in the background while my TV drones about what our current President did over the weekend. A typical Monday as I get ready to mail out some marketing pieces to try to find a buyer that I am working with a possible home. marketing tools: The Open House is nothing more than 'Buyer Bait'

Open Houses are always a crap shoot and although I agree with Lyn Sims they are definitely "market specific". With current technology why would buyer's waste their time and gas actually going to a house when they can view homes from the friendly confines of their home.
The few Open Houses that I did were not successful and since most buyers that go to them do not give honest answers on the sign in sheet they don't even work to try to get "potential buyers" for the agent.
Your agent knows the market best. Besides security issues, there are better ways to market … (4 comments)
marketing tools: No Changes To Active Rain Per Zillow 360 Talk Presenter

I attended the Zillow 360 presentation that was held this morning at the Lisle, IL Sheraton at 9:00 a.m. today. It's been overcast and rainy here in the western suburbs of Chicago and just trying to reach the location took me more than 40 minutes since I happen to live in semi-rural Oswego, IL. Despite the travel time, I try to make time for these types of presentation especially when they are "Free". Sure, it may be wise to prepare yourself to "drink the Cool-Aide" (misspelling intentional) but hearing the latest news from the Zillow Group live and in person gives one … (3 comments)
