marietta real estate: Getting Published Online
- 11/06/07 08:46 AM
I read about getting published online a few months back and decided to give it a try. I wrote an article about Georgia Foreclosures and the foreclosure process in Cobb County and submitted the article. It took a few weeks to publish (probably because I cheaped out and went with a free service), but sure enough it is online. The response is not quite as I expected. I figured there would be a flood of traffic to my site (http://www.buyhawkeye.com), there was not. I figured once published, I would not see anymore traffic after the supposed flood. That was also incorrect.

marietta real estate: Does Anyone do Virtual Staging?
- 07/24/07 03:04 AM
I haven't seen it. Frankly, I haven't looked. But I was wondering, in the age of Photoshop, does anyone stage pictures of vacant properties with furniture and decor? It seems like an obvious way of jazzing up a vacant home so that Buyers can have a better idea of what the place would look like with furniture. Anyway, if anyone performs or utilizes these services, I would be interested in hearing about their successes. R, A Marietta Real Estate Agent

marietta real estate: House Burned Down Next Door -- Selling Point, Right?
- 07/01/07 03:05 PM
So I think everyone was fine, but the house next to one of my listings was struck by lightening a few days ago. It looks like the chimney exploded and the second floor is toasty. The home should be salvageable, but it will take quite a bit of work. Anyone have a story concerning events beyond their control affecting their ability to sell a home? I would love to hear an "I can top that one!" A Marietta Real Estate Agent

marietta real estate: Opt Out of Credit Card Offers
- 05/22/07 04:56 AM
I previously wrote about getting your free credit report. If you followed through with it and received a report, then you will also see who has been conducting "soft hits" to your credit. Those usually result in credit card offers via mail and/or phone. If you would like to eliminate those inquiries and reduce some of your mail, then the next step is to visit this site: Optoutprescreen.com Again, see my thoughts on disclosing personal information (my previous blog). This website is pretty easy to navigate. If you have trouble, drop me a line on this entry and I will help you. A Marietta

marietta real estate: Free Credit Report Resource (as in they really don't want your money)
- 05/21/07 07:47 AM
We are saturated with marketing; day in, day out. It comes as no surpise to me that many of my clients and friends suggest that you can get your free credit report from a website by the same name. I've seen their commercials and I bet you have too. That company is a business just like any other. Oh by-the-way, their commercial campaign is extensive and very costly. In summary, they are not the free resource I had in mind. You see, the government got involved a little ways back and decided that people had a right to know what the credit

marietta real estate: A Quick Look into the Metro-Atlanta Foreclosure Market
- 05/15/07 09:57 AM
A Quick Look into the Metro-Atlanta Foreclosure Market Take a look at the newspaper, TV, and the Internet. It doesn't take too long to realize that a lot of people are jumping in (head-first) into the foreclosure market. When people ask what business we are in, I tell them that we buy foreclosures-A LOT. To a person, they believe that we buy properties before or after foreclosure. It is often difficult to relate in layman's terms that we actually buy properties at the foreclosure auction. The following article will help clear up the confusion. The terms "Vultures" and opportunistic are often applied

marietta real estate: My First Entry from a Marietta Real Estate Agent
- 05/06/07 10:14 AM
I just recently joined the Active Rain community and have been impressed with the number of relevant posts in the Groups section. Already, I have used many of the ideas to further my marketing effort for my real estate website: BuyHawkeye.com. Website development has not come naturally to me and I have spent a tremendous amount of time educating myself on the latest and greatest search engine optimization (SEO) techniques. From all of this studying, I see that my knowledge has grown far beyond what I imagined. Interestingly enough, I think it has also complicated my efforts in some ways. At
