Whomever Shows Us the House Gets the Listing While sitting over a cup of coffee after showing a listing to an out of town, potential buyer, he offered that he had investment properties and had a couple in Waterbury CTthat he was selling. I suppose I got lucky, especially as this was not the person that I had started out with originally.
Earlier in the week, a new buyer called me and asked to see this particular house. I set up the showing, and 10 minutes later the agent that had confirmed the showing call me and told me another potential buyer would (11 comments)
customer service: Work with Them on Their Schedule Not Yours
- 01/05/16 10:49 AM
Work with Them on Their Schedule Not Yours Ours is a service based business. We have no products to sell and we get our compensation only when a client real estate deal closes. So why would we try to manipulate a client to show them homes when it was convenient for us. We may feel that they should make the time to see homes during reasonable hours to us even though they are working the job that will pay for the home. When we sit down with our clients to create a plan of business for them, the size, type and location of (10 comments)
Does a professional of any type go into a situation thinking they are invincible, and anything less than a satisfactory completion is not their fault?
As I was leaving a court house yesterday, I overheard that phrase coming from a lawyer to their client. Leaving the area of expertise of the lawyer, the thoughts presented were that lawyer, on their home field, had done their best and any failure of a victory would have been the fault of their client. Would not reparation to the client been (49 comments)
customer service: How Do You Expand Your Business?

How Do You Expand Your Business? How can you expand and grow your business? It’s rather easy, providing better and consistent service is the key.
I played at a charity fund raising golf tournament, recently, which was highly successful. Not only did the sponsors of the even do exceptionally well, but the host course did well with their presentation and will continue to grow their business in the future. One of my partners, who happened to be on the committee explained to me that it was the 22 year of the event. It was the 5th year at this (7 comments)
customer service: Is There Such a Thing as Providing Too Much Service to a Client?
- 07/15/11 05:30 AM
Is There Such a Thing as Providing Too Much Service to a Client? Our business is one of providing a service to our clients to make the sale or purchase of a residence go smoother. We have all manner of expertise available to us through our affiliations with other real estate professionals. However, when does service extend too far, or is there such a thing as too much service? I had a contact for a sale of a residence from people that lived out of state. They had to sell a home because one of their family members was going (53 comments)
customer service: Service is just a 7 letter word to some!
- 11/13/10 07:07 AM
Service is just a 7 letter word to some, and the meaning can be completely lost on others. Service in our business, means to get in there and assist the buyers and sellers to get through the real estate process. We counsel, inform, nurture, protect and push and prod to get the deals to the closing table. In real Estate we know what service involves. In other fields, service is the business. I just had a great break from work. The wife and I take a short break around our anniversary, Nov. 5, and try to go to a warm (18 comments)
customer service: Bad Service And Unprofessional As Retold By A Colleagues Personal Experience.
- 09/21/10 09:41 AM
Bad service in any business can never have a good result. This post is an illustration of a business owner offering coupons for discounted room rates and when the customer presented the coupon, not only did they not get the room, but they were ultimately denied a room at the motel, and it was done by the police. Bad service resulted in a reservation not being honored, people being removed from the premises, and the management of the motel feeling justified for their actions.
