friendships on activerain: A Summer Meet-up in Wilton CT, Just like a Homecoming - 08/22/13 04:01 AM
A Summer Meet-up in Wilton CT, Just like a Homecoming
There were smiles, laughter, food and drink and the consensus was just another great time. The summer Meet-ups are in full mode, and for the people in Connecticut, a gathering unlike any others on ActiveRain.

Dagny Eason, our Connecticut super hostess held another meet-up at her home in Wilton. Valet parking, a specially prepared buffet and too few hours for the laughs and conversations. We had ActiveRain members, some of Dagny's support staff and even some people that came because they were invited by other Rainers.

friendships on activerain: Around the State in 8 Hours . . . A Mission of Curiosity and Friendship - 02/26/13 10:56 PM
Around the State in 8 Hours . . . A Mission of Curiosity and Friendship
It is a little known fact that when Phineas Fogg made his trip around the world his aide, Passepartout kept a personal diary. This diary was lost for years until it appeared at a tag sale in Prospect CT, where a curious real estate agent, yours truly bought it for the timely sum of $2.00.
Upon reading the diary, I thought of an odyssey within the area that would allow me to visit the places and people of interest in Connecticut. So with camera at the ready, … (34 comments)

friendships on activerain: Central Connecticut Meet-Up in Cromwell CT - 12/06/12 08:56 AM
Central Connecticut Meet-Up in Cromwell CT Cromwell CT is the geographical center of CT, and tonight it was the ActiveRain Center of CT. George Souto was the host for the first Central CT Meet-up at Billy-T's grill on Sebethe Drive in Cromwell. Conveniently located right off I-91
The location made it ideal and the group of Rainers that found there way there made the event perfect.

We were 10 strong that laughed like 20.   L-R Ed Silva, Beth McIntyre, Jim Quarello, Valerie Osterhoudt, Joe Petrowski, Dagny Eason, Fran Rokicki, George Souto and Pat & Wayne Harriman.
It would have been nice … (11 comments)

friendships on activerain: A Sunset I Will Look at For a Long Time . . Sunday Photos - 11/18/12 09:09 AM
A Sunset I Will Look at For a Long Time . . Sunday Photos We just got back fro a few days of vacation in Aruba, a truly peaceful place. The past few days have been hectic with catching up. I had the opportunity to chat with an ActiveRainer this afternoon who is going to Aruba this week with her family.
It was a double pleasure, as I not only got to talk to a fellow Rainer, but the conversation was on a most pleasant topic. I had some pleasant thoughts for the rest of the day, that went along these … (7 comments)

friendships on activerain: Canadian Name on ActiveRain - 04/28/11 02:44 PM

ActiveRain, specifically Nikki Jensen has started a new group, Canada Has Arrived. I didn't even know that we were expecting them as I thought they had always been there.
If you appreciate all that our Northern neighbors have done over the years to support us and appreciate their endless friendship, then join the group and drop in from time to time
Dear Rainers,‘I want to talk to you about the Canadian name on ActiveRainAlthough Canada and USA are not the same,The laboured and beloved blogs were not written in vain.So I took my time to write this rhymeand to show

Please get back to the Pepsi site and vote.  Everyone can vote once a day, every day, so please try to vote each day until the end of the month. Get your family and friends there as well. We are a community of almost 200,000 members. That's a big family.

friendships on activerain: Ed, We Need To Have a Chat - 11/12/10 12:17 PM
Ed, We Need To Have a Chat!   If I hear those words at home, I'm immediately working my mind trying to figure out what my wife has on her mind. But I heard this on the phone and the voice was not my wife's.
Ed, this is Andrea. Like a rock star, or a noted athlete, here on the Rain, no full name is needed. It was like talking to my next door neighbor of 20 years, and she is pretty close, just 40 miles. It wasn't the first time we had talked, and although we haven't met yet, our … (10 comments)
