My Husband and I Were Wondering If You are Still In Business

This was the first line of an email I received from a client that not only gets period mailings from me, but also that magnetic calendar that sits on their refrigerator. It was an email that did come to the proper  email address, however so they must have kept something.

The first thoughts were how effective, or ineffective my marketing might be that I should get such an email from someone that gets periodic mailings from me. The next line was a request for help in … (19 comments)

internet marketing: Will you Market My House Out of State as Well? - 04/18/14 12:14 AM
How Does the Listing Reach the Buying Public?
I recently put a very attractive listing onto the market, and within a very short time, received a phone call from the seller letting me know that she noticed a lot of activity from people driving by the house and just sitting on the street looking up to it. There were also some showings within the first week which demonstrated that the listing was getting noticed and there were buyers that thought it was interesting enough to see inside.
Then the activity slowed down and the seller was concerned that it was not … (13 comments)

internet marketing: Did you ever Talk to the Client you Referred to Me? - 11/29/13 12:09 PM
Did you ever Talk to the Client you Referred to Me?
Referrals are a recognition of good marketing and sound business practices, whether from former clients or from our online presence. I have been fortunate that I have gotten several referrals recently and almost all have been well qualified. There have been a couple lately that have me wondering if the referring agent had ever talked to their client.

A referral is sent when an agent has someone that has a need outside the immediate sphere of an agent. Presumably that person is selling due to relocation and the agent … (32 comments)

Working a Marketing Plan will Reap the Rewards

No business should operate without a plan of action, regardless of it's size. Major corporations have large staffs and outside consultants to determine the market's movement for their products and services, and they make changes to stay abreast of the market and ahead of their competition.
Smaller businesses may not have the same resources, but the need to follow an organized plan is still critical to survival and growth. This is equally true of the people working in our real estate business. The smaller the business, the more critical the implementation … (4 comments)

Social Media Fixes and Mistakes, Making the Effort Productive
Many of us know that the Internet can be a wonderful source of business and have limited avenues to grab our share without spending a lot of money. The marketing specialists tout the social media platforms as business sources but not everyone has the time, or knows how to make this work.
Social Media can take many forms, and whether we believe it or not, the ActiveRain platform is another form of Social Media.

Definition:
Social media refers to the means of interactions among people in which they create, … (15 comments)

internet marketing: The Value of a Real Estate Agent, Can They Be Replaced? - 06/30/13 05:50 AM
The Value of a Real Estate Agent, Can They Be Replaced?

One of the excerpts of the chat between Bob Stewart and Dave Liniger, the founder of RE/MAX was a response to a question presented with the respect to a real estate agent being replaced within  the transaction or as a practical part of the process. This question alone, coming from an employee of Zillow by way of acquisition, piqued my interest.

Mr. Liniger feels, or at east my interpretation is, that the real estate agent really owns the deal, and as long as the agent maintains control and … (3 comments)

internet marketing: You Can Lead a Horse to Water, but You Can't Make Them Blog - 01/12/12 01:48 AM
You Can Lead a Horse to Water, but You Can’t Make Them Blog!

Trying to get someone to do what could be beneficial to them can be a challenge. Getting an Invitee to stay aboard and be a consistent blogger is just as difficult as trying to make that horse drink. It’s not that they don’t see the success you may be having, but I believe more a fear of not being able to look professional in their postings and then coming off as less than professional as a real estate agent.
I know my first efforts at blogging were … (7 comments)
