However, some of the towns in the Greater Waterbury CT area are still holding events to honor the brave men and women that gave their lives defending our freedom. On this Memorial Day, as we honor the brave men and women that gave their lives to protect our freedom we also celebrated in Waterbury CT the unselfish feats of Waterbury natives as well.
This past week, the Waterbury CT Veterans Memorial Committee held their annual 'Support Our Troops' event that honored men and women that had proudly served our country to protect our freedoms. The honors were bestowed on veterans of military conflicts from World War II to the current Middle East struggles.
Cheshire: The two-mile parade steps off at 1:30 p.m. today from Highland Elementary School along Route 10 to Cheshire High School. Rain date is May 31. The parade is cosponsored by the town and the Veterans Council of Cheshire. Call 203-272-2743 for information.
