See the Lights on Frisbie Circle in Wolcott CT and Pay it Forward

Frisbie Circle, in Wolcott CT, is a cul-de-sac of 14 homes where everyone has a strong sense of community. The residents of Frisbie Circle in Wolcott CT are all very much into the Christmas Season, each spending hours of their time to put up Christmas decorations and lights to be appreciated by all that drive through the street.
They look for nothing for themselves, but in front of each house is a clean tub, with a sign requesting that food donations be left in the … (1 comments)

Socks for the Troops . . . Pay it Forward
The Prospect Pages, here in Prospect CT, is still collecting items for our troops overseas. One of the items they are collecting are plain white socks.
Fortunately, I remembered this when I made a sock run to Costco recently, and purchased socks for myself and also for the troops stationed in the Middle East.
Here in our area, a few of the local Prospect CT businesses are serving as collection points for these items. Socks can be brought to the offices of the Prospect Pages in Cross Pointe plaza right … (13 comments)

17th Annual Bobby Bonds Memorial Scholarship Tournament . . . Pay it Forward
The 17th Annual Bobby Bonds Golf Tournament, sponsored by New Opportunities for Waterbury, was held Monday, September 12 at the Waterbury Country Club.
This tournament again drew a large field of golfers, all here to honor the memory of Bobby Bonds and to support the tournament that Bobby Bonds started as a way of giving back to the community that was so supportive of him when he played here as a member of the Waterbury Giants, AA affiliate in 1967.
Former friends, fellow ball players and friends … (8 comments)

Reaching Out to An Associate in Need . . . Pay it Forward

While reading through my Social Blog, I caught a word on sonmeone's post that made me stop.
There was a tone that I caught that hit the sense in me that this particular blogger was having problems  or maybe just caught up in some excesses of life and just needed a helping hand or maybe just an ear to talk to.
I made the call and we made the connection. As we were already a subscriber to each other's posts, it took a lot of the … (75 comments)

Throughout my RE/MAX career, I have always been a Miracle Agent. That doesn't mean that it was a miracle if I sold a home. Being a Miracle Agent in the RE/MAX System, means that I choose to make a donation to the Miracle Home System from the proceeds of my commission.
These donations are used to fund special programs at the nearest Children's hospital, which in this case is the Children's wing at Hartford Hospital. All donations are used locally, and are … (7 comments)

Helping Junior Golfers Appreciate the Game . . . Pay it Forward
At Crestbrook Park Golf Course in Watertown CT, there is a junior golf program, much like most golf courses in the country. For a couple of hours a day, a few weeks out of the summer, the staff teach young golfers the proper mechanics of the game, golf etiquette.
For golfers below the age of 12, it's a great way to learn the game properly and make some new friends as well.
Throughout the summer the staff keep the young golfers involved on thre driving range and on the … (9 comments)

Here are a Couple of Free Tickets - - - Pay it Forward
We recently attended an outdoor concert that featured Big Band Music and specifically the music of Benny Goodman. I truly enjoy listening to the swing music of the late 30's and 40's, and ther's nothing like hearing it live by a 16 piece orchestra.
We had made up our minds to go and as luck would have it, I simultaneously got an online offer to purchase 4 tickets for the price of 2. As I was in-line at the ticket booth, I saw a couple coming up … (10 comments)

The Guidelines to a Successful Life Can be Taught at An Early Age - - - Pay it Forward
Most golfers understand and appreciate the value and importance of teaching youngsters the proper way to play the game and also the proper comportment that must be maintained on the golf course.
This is taught by the head professional, Ken Gemmell, at Crestbrook Park Golf Coursein Watertown CT.
The game may not require the great degree of athleticism as other sports, but it does require some degree of coordination and agility.
More importantly, the game, if played properly, requires focus and concentration, … (14 comments)

I Went to Meet a Client, and Walked into a car Show - - - Pay it Forward
I had an appointment to visit with a selling client early afternoon Sunday. As were going to meet at his place of business for what should have been at best 15 minutes.
As I tried to get into the Industrial Park, I was stopped by barricades and told that I could not enter unless I was exhibiting and would have to walk up.
I found a place to park, started the walk, and then was stopped to pay the spectator fee. I … (11 comments)

Letting the Mechanic know his Help Was Appreciated . . . Pay it Forward

I recently had to take my car to the service center in town because I noticed a puddle of water on the mat on the passenger side of the car. My thoughts were of a leaky window seal or a broken air conditioner, neither of which would be pleasant.
The mechanics looked at the seal from the outside then pulled the car onto the lift and sent it up. With a piece of wire in hand, he went under the car, looked around for a … (18 comments)

A Comment Heard in Passing becomes a Random Act of Kindness . . Pay it Forward I had caught a comment made by a friend of a friend about needing a chest of drawers for a bedroom. The person making the comment was an elderly woman that lived alone and was having a tough time. As I was assisting a client to empty a home as their family member was confined to a nursing home, I made a pitch for the chest of drawers that was going to charity.

I arranged for one of my nephews to help me move … (12 comments)

A Simple Coffee Purchase Brings a Smile . . . Pay it Forward
We had some excessively hot days this past week, and there was never enough cool liquids to make me feel comfortable. While running around, I stopped at a local quick stop to get something cold to drink. I got into line and waited somewhat impatiently for the woman in front of me while she scrambled through her purse for her money.

Then the charitable side kicked in and I stepped up to the counter, placed my drink on the counter and gave the clerk a $20.00 bill … (9 comments)

Here in Prospect CT, the Woodland high School Boys and girls soccer teams held a drive to collect cans and bottles.
The proceeds would go toward their costs of travel, etc for their games and practices.
Several groups collect recyclables a few times a year, and we always save our cans and bottles just for these drives.
With 6 months worth of empties in various oversized plastic bags, I loaded up the car and went to the parking lot of St Anthony's church in the center of town. There the volunteers gladly took all the bags and carried them … (15 comments)
