rain camp: Who Cares If We Didn't Get to RainCamp Charlotte? - 10/28/10 11:04 AM
October 28 was the day for RainCamp in Charlotte NC. The crew from Seattle was making another of their presentations to a room jam packed with enthusiastic ActiveRain Members. Maybe even a rowdy crowd.
Well, I wasn't one of them. I had thought about making the run to Charlotte. I have family not very far away in Asheville that I haven't seen in a year, but the timing wasn't right to get away.

So I wasn't there to hear Ben Kinney impart his wisdom on marketing and being effective on the Internet.
I also missed his expertise on social marketing with … (44 comments)

rain camp: RainCamp Niagara Falls, Canada, A Very Special Event - 08/06/10 08:17 AM

That's right, there was a special RainCamp in Canada on Wednesday, Aug 4, with attendance by Special Invitation.
As my wife needs a break from work  eventually, we decided to visit Niagara Falls as she had never been there. This thought to visit the Falls was not without a selfish motive, however, as it's location on the Canadian border is a relatively short drive from Brampton, Ontario Canada, home to Al & Peggy Cunningham.
As I do on occasions, I do call and chat with my fellow ActiveRainers, and there will sometimes be a spark that just says you want … (28 comments)

rain camp: RainCamp Boston, Ma, IT WAS FANTASTIC, and That's Getting to be Redundant - 07/27/10 09:30 AM

RainCamp made it to New England, and did it right on the historic Boston Harbor. No tea was thrown into the water but there was plenty of information flying around and being caught by willing ears and eyes.
This was my third RainCamp, and although some of it was same-old, as it was being presented so efficiently and expertly by Ben Kinney, I was able to pick up tid-bits that I had missed in the previous camps.
RAINCAMP, New York City was just overwhelming not only by location, but also by the people in attendance that made it so special.

rain camp: WE WANT RAINCAMP, WE WANT RAINCAMP!!! - 06/14/10 03:20 AM
Okay New England, let's get a movement!
It got attention back in the 60's when I was in college and students were protesting the war in Viet Nam, and also for the Equal Rights amendments for racial equality.
Well, fellow New England ActiveRainers, let's start our own cry. WE Want Rain Camp!!Collectively, there are almost 9,000 ActiveRain members here in New England.
As an ActiveRain member I made the trip to New York City in January to attend my first RainCamp, and it was a great experience.
But that wasn't enough for me, so when the opportunity presented itself, I … (36 comments)

rain camp: I got a new Icon for my Profile. . . Special for Attending Raincamp - 06/09/10 12:32 AM

I noticed this morning that there was a new icon that appeared below my profile photo when I posted a comment. As I scrolled over to it, it indicated that I had attended RainCamp. It was odd that it just appeared now because I had attended Rain Camp in New York City, back in January.
As I started to read other posts and noticed other profile photos, something peculiar stopped me. When I saw William Walton's profile, he aslo had the new icon, but he hadn't gone to Raincamp New York, but I know he is going to Raincamp Washington, DC.

rain camp: Raincamp 2010, Welcome to Broadway! - 01/12/10 11:53 PM

Whenever a new show comes to Broadway, it does so after taking out the 'kinks' in smaller venues so it can be a smash with the opening curtain. RainCamp, 2010 in New York City didn't disappoint. Bob Stewart and his entourage set up the lights, rolled back the curtain and performed to an eager audience, standing ovations, but no curtain calls. If you attend any sales rally, it is inevitably about the sales promotions. There was an understated purpose here also, but RainCAmp was about helping to learn and making the most of the tools available to us.
