Why Is The House Still Showing Active on the Search Sites When a property gets a working contract, the listing agent has 24 hours to change the status in the Multiple Listing Service from active to either a hard deposit or pending. With either change, the contract that initiated the change cannot be superseded by another contract and can only be held as a back-up if something happens to rescind the original contract. While we take pride in having been home to many corporate businesses, it is also true that the exodus of jobs over a 20 year period has left voids in the local economies of many of the towns in the state.
