raccap: Positive Parenting

This morning, at 0745, I attended a meeting of the board of directors of the Rappahannock Area Council for Children and Parents (RACCAP). The mission of RACCAP is to promote positive parenting and educate the public about the prevention of child abuse and neglect in the Greater Fredericksburg Area. The term "positive parenting" came to my attention soon after I was appointe to the BOD. It may have been at my first meeting that I asked the meaning of it. raccap: Being a Member of a Community

For over 30 years I was a member of the United States Army. Our family moved throughout the United States, Central America, and Europe. Because of the frequent moves we were not able to associate with any community other than the Army. We feared that the constant moving would have an adverse effect on our children but, to this point, it does not seem to be the case. Only recently, we have been able to become involved in community activities in the civilian sector. Truthfully, it has been a very rewarding experience to us. Admitedly, the real estate market is slow in many parts of the country. Admitedly, alll of us will probably make less money than we did last. Admitedly, we are looking for ways to make more money this year. Well, this blog has nothing to do with making money. I has something to do with spending it!
