Delta, Colorado, will host our annual Independence Day Fireworks Display on Monday, July 4th at Confluence Park (behind City Market). HAVE YOU ALWAYS DREAMED OF MOVING TO COLORADO? For many years, that is exactly what I did! We came to Montrose, Colorado, many years ago to visit family. I fell completely in love with Western Colorado! I love the four distinct seasons....something we never had in Texas where I grew up. Winter in Texas can be any three days between December and March. Not always three consecutive days - okay, slight exaggeration there. But any of you that have spent any time at all in Texas know just what I am talking about. I discovered a situation in the last couple of weeks that is really bugging me. A local Realtor has a home listed that is surely going into foreclosure. The agent KNEW when he/she listed the home that the owners were in trouble and the "Notice of Election/Demand" was filed with the county treasurer. The house is overpriced. What is bugging me is this. Shouldn't this agent have educated the homeowner on what was about to happen and immediately pursued a short sale if that was possible? I know in this case, that was now what happened. If that agent is not educated enough to negotiate … (7 comments)

Delta is getting a new hotel! That's right! New hotel with meeting rooms should be open by this fall. Wow, I thought Delta was just going to sit by and watch Montrose and Grand Junction get all the new businesses, but not anymore. We have seen many changes in the last year or so. Taco Bell just opened a couple of month ago and is now across from Walmart. Oh, it isn't new, but we had kept it hidden behind City Market for years. I bet many Delta residents didn't even know we had a Taco Bell. Their new location is right off … (9 comments)
