On August 1, 2016, Malaga Cove Library started offering passport services for Palos Verdes homes owners.  This is great resource for residents who aren’t interested in fighting the lines at the local post offices (especially with their limited hours).  The passport service also adds revenue for our libraries.  The Malaga Cove Library passport hours are Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.   Reservations are required and you can make them online at www.pvld.org/services/passport.

Palos Verdes home owners know that summer is a great time for their children to relax and simply read a story (and put down the electronics).  All of our local libraries have been participating in the Summer Reading Program for years and school age children love the weekly events that each of the branches offers during the month.  These activities feature music, magic and cool crafts.  It's not too late to join and this program continues until August 23, 2015.

On September 28, 2013, the Palos Verdes Library District will be sponsoring "One Book One Peninsula" a community wide reading event at the Peninsula Center Library.  Author Edward Humes will be discussing his famous book Garbology, Our Dirty Love Affair With Trash, from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m., on the library rooftop. The author states that we each produce 102 tons of trash in our lifetime, which is more than any other people in the world.  The book indicates that not only do we make a lot of trash, but we should consider the result.  It costs hundreds of dollars to rid ourselves of this mess … (1 comments)
