The Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District is inviting Palos Verdes homes owners (and/or tenants) who will have children entering Kindergarten in the Fall of 2015, to attend the Kindergarten Registration Information Program.  Parents should plan on attending even if they have had other children go through the system because the program has changed.  This is an important event if you have Kindergarten age children because some Palos Verdes elementary schools are impacted.  California Law (SB 1381) relating to the age requirement for Kindergarten enrollment was changed.  The new law requires a child be five … (0 comments)

palos verdes school information: Skechers Friendship Walk Benefits Peninsula Education Foundation - 10/09/14 11:56 AM
Skechers Friendship Walk Benefits Peninsula Education Foundation
Where does the money come from to support our local Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District?  The primary source of income for most public school districts in California, including the PVPUSD, is from the State.   However, State support has declined since 2007-08.  The most stable and reliable funding source in recent years has been local revenue from the Peninsula Education Foundation.  This income has allowed PVPUSD to continue providing programs and services for students needed for their success in college and/or the workplace.
The Peninsula Education Foundation board of trustees has voted to increase its … (0 comments)

The new school year has begun and Palos Verdes home owners have changes in their Palos Verdes Schools.  Even though controversial, the Common Core State Standards are going forward beginning with this school year.  We also have a new Superintendent for Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District - Dr. Don Auston, who was the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services for the Huntington Beach Union High School District.  The School Board unanimously approved a four year contract for Dr. Austin at the August 6, 2014, meeting, concluding that he had the right … (0 comments)

palos verdes school information: Do You Know What Palos Verdes School Education Costs? - 03/10/14 11:26 AM

Palos Verdes homes owners and their tenants are fortunate to be able to send their children to the award winning Palos Verdes schools.  The Peninsula Education Foundation recently released a school chart tuition/funding comparison for both public and private Palos Verdes schools and the numbers are surprising.
