Palos Verdes homes owners can enjoy the Malaga Cove “Summer Concerts in the Park” at Farnham Martin Park (located next to the Malaga Cove Library in Palos Verdes Estates) on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m., beginning July 11th, and running through August 29th. You may bring your blankets at 3:00 p.m to save a spot. The list of the 2012 summer performers is as follows:

Palos Verdes homes owners are lucky to be able to watch fireworks from the Peninsula up and down the coast and in the skies above other South Bay cities. Off the coast of Torrance Beach (shot from a barge) at 9:00 p.m., there will again be a great fireworks show that is privately funded. Price per square foot for Peninsula Center homes that sold in 2011 was $443 compared to $430 in 2010 – a 3% increase. Average sales price for Peninsula Center homes that sold in 2011 was $956,353 compared to $973,776 in 2010.

This means that our local waters have received grades of A & A+ throughout the year. Heal the Bay is a nonprofit environmental organization dedicated to making Southern California coastal waters and watersheds safe, healthy and clean. Last week, I attended and economic forecast for both Palos Verdes real estate, the Los Angeles area and the State of California given by Leslie Appleton- Young, Chief Economist for California Association of Realtors. Below are highlights:
We are finally seeing growth in construction and financial services. Government jobs will continue to decrease. California new housing starts bottomed in 2009 and are starting to rise. We usually need 150,000 to 200,000 new units each year to sustain our population. 29.7% of mortgages in California are under water but that number has shrunk since 2009. May 2012 Palos Verdes real estate statistics indicate more of the same good numbers we experienced last month. 55 Palos Verdes houses sold in May which is exactly the same as April. May pending sales are just about the same as April – 63 homes compared to 64 in April. The number of active Palos Verdes homes for sale in May rose just 4 homes to 182 in May from 178 homes in April. In prior posts, we discussed specialized summer activities that children can enjoy and below are some additional camps for Summer 2012 that are available here on the Peninsula for Palos Verdes homes owners.
For years, Peninsula Sports Camps have been entertaining children with their full and half day camps in Palos Verdes.
