The Movie Colony Homes:  Previously named Ruth Hardy park, The Movie Colony is a highly sought-after Palm Springs neighborhood located close to downtown.  In 2012, the popular neighborhood was renamed 'Movie Colony East' to celebrate its Hollywood roots.
The northern portion of the neighborhood was the site of the El Mirador Hotel golf course in the 1930s, now consisting of homes originally designed as second homes and vacation hide aways for Hollywood celebrities.
