Those who attempt to compare do themselves, their clients and the real estate market here in Palm Springs do a total disservice. It is just not the same - it never has been. You see, the market here in the Coachella Valley including such desert cities as, La Quinta,Palm Desert,Palm Springs,Rancho Mirage and Cathedral City.

palm springs: Short Sales and Foreclosures in Palm Springs - 04/21/08 04:55 AM
I am noticing a lot of short sales are selling at very close to full price and some of the better ones may have several offers on them. The market here has changed a bit. The good bank foreclosures also have multiple offers as well. I have several clients that are waiting for the bank to sort through the offers and get a response; it is not for the faint of heart and can take two to four months or more to complete a short sale. Foreclosures are tricky also and most people don't know that the bank can get an … (0 comments)

palm springs: Foreclosure Properties in Palm Springs - 03/06/08 05:22 PM

One of the smartest as well as easiest ways for someone just getting into the real estate market to be in a position to purchase a home is to locate a property that has been foreclosed upon. Most all banks that you talk to would like nothing better to be able to get out from under the responsibilities of insuring a foreclosed home. Banks will very often part with a home that they have foreclosed upon at a huge discount just as long as they can recover enough money to pay off the outstanding loan on the property.

palm springs: The Palm Springs Horizon Hotel - 02/17/08 01:47 AM

Palm Springs, CA -- Too much of Palm Springs' trademark mid-century modern architecture has been lost in recent years. Even today, development continues to swallow up some of the desert's best buildings. But the recently-renovated Horizon Hotel proves that preservation and development are not necessarily mutually exclusive. In May of 2006 - following a two-year, multi-million-dollar renovation - the 22-room luxury hotel once again opened its doors, thus beginning a new chapter for this legendary desert getaway.
When real estate developer Dave Scharf bought the Horizon (originally called L'Horizon) in 2004, it needed more than a little TLC. In the … (0 comments)
