When we bought our house in Hawaii, the former sellers rented back from us for 18 months. So, I got to know them fairly well. They also moved temporarily across the street one December just so I could stay in our house. Super nice people from Canada. The only people I know who are missionaries, reliant on donations and benefactors. This couple work together at University of Nations in Kona, a religious organization that presents specific curriculum to international students.

The best tip for finding a gardener in Hawaii was right under my nose, and I didn't think of it for months. Instead, I just kept paying the guy who wasn't even the gardener I was supposed to be working with. I only know this because I talked to my neighbor, Don, to tell him I was unhappy with the gardener he referred and discovered it's not the same guy who does his garden.

This is just for starters. This avocado. In fact, I have a bunch of avocados. But I also discovered something else that I did not expect, and it's just the cutest thing ever. A pineapple!
 
I found it when I came back from another shopping spree. My husband should not have suggested I look at Le Creusent dinnerware, is all I have to say. I also went to Costco on a Saturday, so I deserve a medal. Plus, endured my first-ever-in-my-life-trip to Walmart. No joke.
