hoa: A Wells Fargo Short Sale Closing in Natomas and Celebration at Lounge on 20 - 06/18/11 03:37 AM
I recall a dinner I attended and planned for sales reps from Linotype-Hell in Minneapolis some 20 years ago. Reps came from all over the Midwest. One of them was Bud -- from Iowa. Bud was a big guy who wore plaid shirts, a meat-and-potatoes-and-corn kinda man. The first course was an appetizer. Scallops. Two large scallops. Served on a big plate. Bud looked down at his plate and then glared at me: "Where's my dinner?" he asked.
Last night my husband and I had dinner at one of our favorite outdoor dining spots in Midtown Sacramento, Lounge on 20. I … (5 comments)

hoa: No Lockbox Problems on this Short Sale Condo in Cameron Park - 05/18/10 02:46 AM
In this business, if your Monday is brutal, Tuesday is likely to be ten times worse. That seems to be a given. I keep thinking that the real estate business will slow down in Sacramento, but it's only getting more hectic. This week alone I believe I am taking 5 new listings, and that's just the ones I know about at the moment. But I'm fortunate to have closed so many transactions this year that my inventory has room to grow, thank goodness, and I still have enough lockboxes in the trunk of my car to handle the growth.

I always ask my first-time home buyers if they would consider buying a halfplex, townhome or condo. Many buyers prefer single family homes, but sometimes a planned unit development can fit the bill and be less expensive to purchase. Especially if that halfplex, townhome or condo comes with a yard.
Much depends on how the layout is set up. Generally, the units are attached by a common wall. If that wall is part of the garage, you may never hear or see your neighbors. Some attached housing complexes belong to a homeowner's association and some do not. For example, I have … (8 comments)

hoa: I'll See Your Sacramento Closing and Raise You One Bank-Owned Home and Two Short Sales - 02/20/10 01:57 AM
At a young age, my father taught me three important things about life. How to bluff my way through a poker hand, catch fish by using a pole, line, bobber, hook and bait, and how to keep my head above water while swimming. In the case of the latter, he threw me out of the boat in the middle of the lake and told me to swim or drown. For added measure, he dumped our dog into the water. I didn't say he was a nice man.
Do you know what happens when you're in the water with a dog? The … (8 comments)

hoa: Here is a Sacramento Short Sale in Natomas That Could Close in Early October - 09/08/09 02:01 AM
Some people get out of bed in the morning and say they wish they didn't have to go to work. Other people say they wish they had a job. When I wake up, I say, "I'd like nothing better than to list a Wachovia short sale today." Well, yesterday, my wishes were granted.
There is a silver lining in being a Sacramento short sale agent. That bright light is Wachovia. This is a bank that has its short sale department primed and ready to process the transaction. Unlike some short sale banks -- those that lose paperwork, shred files and cause … (5 comments)
