Live/Work St. Louis - First Time Home Buyer Waiting Till the Last Minute - Don't Let the $8,000 Tax Credit Pass You By
We understand there are procrastinators, and that some folks work way better under pressure.  This is one instances though where a little pre-planning will make sure you make the deadline of November 30, 2009.  If you think you can wait to close on the last day, you better think again.  Most title companies will be closed the day after Thanksgiving.  That leaves you only Monday, November 30.  How many people will be in line to close that day?  Then, what if the numbers are wrong and the company you are getting your loan from has to re-disclose and you have to wait another 3 days before you can close?  Now you are past the 30th.  Now What?  No $8,000 Tax Credit.
If you plan to utilize the Tax Credit see your mortgage person now, get your pre-approval and start looking now.  When submitting your contract ask your loan person for a reasonable time frame to close your loan in advance of the deadline.
