When you think of Houston, the usual attractions come to mind, Minute Maid Park, Reliant Park, the Galleria and of course, NASA.  Now, what you really don't want to miss are these three distinct places of interest that make Houston unique. 
ORANGE SHOW CENTER FOR VISIONARY ART

The Orange Show was a vision of the late Jeff McKissack, a Houston postman. With his death in 1980, a non-profit was founded by Marilyn Oshman a patron of Houston arts.  Their mission statement is, "The Center preserves, promotes and documents visionary art environments, provides opportunities for the expression of personal artistic vision and creates a community where that expression is valued."  The Orange Show offers hands-on programs for children & adults in addition to music, story-telling and much more.  Their annual fund-raising gala will be on November 7 2009.  This year it is being called Angels and Demons on the Bayou and is always one of Houston's most enjoyable events. 
ART CAR MUSEUM
