Friday Night at the Paramount in Abilene!

The Paramount Theatre, is one of my all time favorite places to go in Abilene.   It was first built in 1930 so it's older than me and that is a good thing! In 1987 the theatre was totally restored and it is truly one of the sights to see in Abilene Texas.  The theatre is on a national registry of restored theatres.  
I went and saw "ET" last night.  ET is about an alien child who wanders away from the mother ship and gets left behind on earth and then is befriended  by a human child and his family.  Even though ET becomes friends with the human family, he is dying of homesickness,  ET wants to go home.  The plot revolves around the adventures of ET and the obstacles to going home. Fortunately, this is a feel good movie unlike some science fiction, ET has a happy ending and ET goes home and  with loving sadness the three human children understand. ET has to go home to be happy. The heart always longs for home.
